TTC #1 on Clomid w/estradiol

Hey all
We have been trying to conceive for two months. I know it's still not that long. But I've had irregular cycles for the past 4 months due to work stress levels I've been told so it's tough to predict O dates. I've seen a doctor and she decided to put me on Clomid 50 mg day 3-7 followed by estradiol. Started Clomid yesterday. I was asked to come in for a follicle scan on cd 12,14 & 16. Doctor said not to bd 4 days leading upto the first scan. Can anyone tell why cause I read that I could O before day 12 on Clomid sometimes.
All my tests are good. No pcos. Have antral follicle count of 9 and 8. DH sa shows a slightly low sperm count (he did get tested when recovering from a flu, does it make a diff?).
I'm anxious to know when is the best time to bd and the success rates with Clomid induced O. Also do I really need estradiol cause I've been reading that it may not be required most of the time. I've really want to conceive soon cause I've had a serious auto immune condition and was hospitalised on and off for almost 4 years but thankfully under remission now so this is the best time for us to ttc before it strikes back. So naturally I'm stressed and I know thats not helping!!! Sorry I went on for a bit. Thanks everyone!! Best wishes to all!

Hi there. I am trying to conceive #3 using clomid and estradiol (and metformin). Tonight I start my second cycle on clomid. I have been having irregular periods and so my doctor said this combo will keep my regular and will help me to ovulate around CD14. To answer your question, since your doctor is monitoring you, she may want to see that you don't have too many mature follicles, which increases your chance for multiples. My doctor only monitors cycle day 21 to see if I ovulated. The estradiol helps to make sure your lining isn't too thin, the clomid tends to thin it out. We begin to bd about 5 days after last clomid pill- we bd every other day until about cd 20. Last cycle I ovulated right on cd14.
Definitely try to relax. This is an exciting time. I am excited to begin another cycle. We are really hoping this is our month
