Hello my fellow oldies but goodies! :flower:

Just thought I might start a little thread for those of us trying for #2. I don't know about you, but I fell pregnant very quickly at 32 with #1 who's almost 6 now, and since then, apart from 2 back to back MCs last year...nada!!

So for those of you expanding the family with #2, #3 and beyond, I'd like to say hello! :flower: Good Luck! and may your :bfp: be strong and lasting! :hugs:

Hi nellis and Fay. I am 40 and ttc no 2. Also fell quite quickly with my first at age 32. He's now 8 and desperate for a little brother or sister. Its so heartbreaking. I'm in my 17month of ttc and had all the routine tests - no problems identified with me or DH (he's 42). So I guess I have to keep trying. This month is a killer though as am 4 days late (am NEVER late) and AF a no show but also 3 BFN's. So frustrating!!!
Good luck to us all xxx

Hi Minno Hi Faye! :flower:

Been trying since Feb 2007 had 2 MC last year back to back and nothing since. I honestly never thought I'd have trouble getting pregnant as DS was such a quick surprise!

I guess we just have to trust our bodies and hope for the best!! :coffee:

hi i no how you feel i feel pregnant so quick with first son now its not happening but hopefully ivf will do i hope :happydance:

So good to know there are others in the same boat - not that I'd wish any of us to be going through this! I keep thinking of being 40 and that I've left it too late - I know its ridiculous. My boss at work had her two kids at age 42 and 44. Another colleague had her first at age 41. There must be hope but its so difficult picking myself up month after month of disappointment.
Tried CBFM and OPks. Tried pre-natal pro-cenception multivits. Also on iron as ferritin is low but improving.
Hoping its just a matter of time. Think I read somewhere that it takes on average around 18months - 2 years for ladies in their late 30's/early 40'son to conceive all being well. Not quite there yet, but almost!

Hi ladies, :flower:

Am 35 for the mo..soon to be 36 at the end of June!. Have a 15 y.o & have been ttc #2 for nearly 2.5 years, both OH & I are STILL waiting.

Using CBFM, preseed & softcups + started 1st month on Clomid.

Fx for us all that our time has come to receive our BFP's & a much wanted baby at the end of 9 months.xx:hugs:

Keep up hope and stay positive. Wishing you pregnancy success.

Well I am coming up on ovulation, temps are dropping and OPKs getting darker...fingers crossed for success this month for all of us!! :hugs:

I'm 40 and TTC #2 .... have a 20 month old son and had a MC in April of this year. 8dpo right now and cannot wait to find out if this is our month.

Just got word from Hospital that they want me to start IVF in my January cycle as I am heading for 40 in March and I need to have started stimming by then!

Fingers crossed!!! :happydance:

Oh hey I'm 40 in March too and trying for #2 from next month, I've just stopped taking the mini pill and I'm waiting for AF to show up, starting to feel a bit pmsey so it might be next week all being well. I thought one LO would be enough but I just don't feel complete stopping at one.

I conceived my first just after my 38th birthday on the first go. Somehow I have the feeling this one will take longer, not sure why.

Good luck and mucho baby dust to us all! :)

Hey ladies! I'm going to be 39 in March and I have 4 kiddos....I know, I know, that's a lot of kids! But I'm just not ready to stop. LOL. I was able to get pregnant pretty easy, except my last one, at 31, did take 8 months. We've been working on # 5 since sometime after Feb 09. I don't have an exact start date because at first my husband was on the "if it's God's will" mindset, so there was no timed sex (I seriously didn't even pay attention to ovulation time). I'm not sure when we crossed over from not trying to GOING ALL OUT! But after over a year of TRYING, I discovered that my husband's medication (a calcium channel blocker) was also known as "the male contraceptive". What a waste of all those eggs!! After he changed meds, we still had to wait for about 4 to 5 months for the sperm to improve. I thought new sperm are made every 24 hours so we could start trying right away. But the new sperm only "clone" themselves to the bad sperm for about 4 months. Then you have to wait another 2 weeks for them to get to where they can be...released. So anyway, point is, a lot of time was wasted. So I feel like we just started about 5 months ago...but we've been at this forever!!! Sometimes I worry that it will never happen for us. But on my good days, I know it will. My mom conceived my sister when she was 38--and she wasn't even trying! LOL.

Much luck to you all! :dust:

Hi Guys
I usually lurk.
Im 40... 41 in May this year, Have Toby whos 18 months next week, didn't do anything to concieve him just stropped preventing, didn't even pick up the pace at baby dancing just as and when and concieved him at 38.5 years, he was born prepaturely. I had not prevented for 13 months. This time has been a roller coaster. I had 2 miscarriages in April and June 2010 and then not a sniff since, and gone from not knowing how long my cycle was to being obsessed with everything to do with conception. Having started tests the end of September 2010 and seeing a second IVF specialist on December 2010 His opinion is that with my age and my AMH blood work I am not suitable for IVF, of course I could try it but he think my chances are the same with or without IVF and being self funded we have decided to just carry on naturally. I'm still going to track my cycle for the optimum baby making time but thats it. This is the last month temping and OPK ing were just going to aim to hit my usual window based on usual ov day and cervical mucus and position, then I will temp a couple of times to check its gone up. That's it. I am working towards being happy and living in the present with my husband and little boy, I start my exercise plan on Monday, period due Sunday and if I can't have another gorgeous baby I'm gonna be thin again!!

Hi lovely ladies! I am 40 in exactly one weeks time and TTC No3. Had my last two at 24 & 27 both conceived first month trying. Now with a different partner and we are TTC our first together. This is only my 3rd Cycle TTC, AF started yesterday, also had Implanon removed in September and cycles seem to be back on track, last two 27 & 29 days. Used OPK's last month and OV'd much later than I thought but no luck. Will keep trying and stay on this thread with you ladies of a 'certain age' and wishing you all the :dust in the world.

Hi girls, I'm 40 in May and have been trying to concieve a take home baby for 2 years now. In that time have had 3MMCs and to chems. Sailed through pg with my 4year old, fell pg first month of trying with next 1 too, and things have just gone downhill since. I've had a bad day today negotiating with our wonderful folk in the health service!!?? sorry if I sound negative, usually try to stay as positive as possible on what seems like a steep climb some days

faye38 is that doggy a pug? I have 2 cats but in need of a little companion since I'm not working just now. My OH and I are thinking of getting a pug to keep me company. I reckon that a little doggy will take my mind off all this TTC stuff and Fx it might just happen then. I'm 41 and TTC my first after 2 miscarriages, it really gets me down sometimes...

Minno, could you ask your boss how she did it (I mean if you feel you could ask that question?) I would so love more than 1 baby, actually I didn't realise this thread is for girls who already have one, I'm trying for my first at 41 and it seems like a huge mountain to climb. x
