Just wanted to tell everyone hello. I am new here. I have a 5 year old little girl, and have been on mirena the last 5 years. It was taken out at the end of April and we are now ttc our 2nd. Anyone else here just getting off of mirena? I would love to chat! !!

Hi! We are also ttc #2, have a 5 year old, and I got my mirena taken out last August I believe, for side effects not for ttc.

Good luck to you! When you got your mirena out do you remember how long it took for your period to come back? I'm almost a month out and haven't had mine yet. So I'm just curious !

Hello, we're ttc no 2 as well, our daughter is 2 and half. I've not had the coil but been off bcp a few months now. I have long and irregular cycles though so it's hard to pinpoint O day. I'm just waiting for my thermometer to arrive so I can start temping this month.

I am having my copper coil out tomorrow and will also be ttc our 2nd :)

Did it hurt when you had your coil removed? X

Not who you were asking Sarah, but I used Paragard for a year and got it out in March. The procedure hurt way less than I was expecting, and took less than two minutes with my feet in the stirrups. About as much pain as a pap smear, I'd say. I did have some intense cramping about 20 minutes later, but it faded within 15 minutes.

My period came at about the expected time, and was thankfully much, much lighter that the horror that it had been with the Paragard. And now we get to try for #2!

Thank you, it wasn't too bad having it put in so I was hoping you would say that!

I don't really have regular periods but have had 3 in the last 4 months. How long did everyone try for their first? We fell really quickly last time but I am convinced it will take longer this time!

Hey, I got pregnant in the first month TTC for our first, too! I really am expecting it to take a while for round two. At least now I know I can conceive, and I have a cute little buddy to keep me busy while waiting!

Had my coil out yesterday and it was fine :) it wouldn't come out at first but she got it! All systems go now! Just waiting for a period now and then I will start taking opk I think xx

When are you next due?

Is it common to get a withdrawal bleed with the coil like it is with the pill?

I guess it would depend on what kind of coil? I'm thinking the more a has the same hormones as the pill so possibly. My coil was copper so I've been told it will just be a normal period xx

That's good. I was on cerazette and i thought I got a period really quickly but it was just a withdrawal bleed, and it actually took ages to get a period. I have really long and enjoying cycles anyway though. Hate all this waiting around!

Hi there!! We are also TTC #2! my DD is 3.5 and my DF's daughter is 4, so OUR second will really cement our little blended family. I haven't used Mirena but I did have my Implanon removed from my arm a few months ago! Baby dust to all you lovely ladies!!

Hi all! I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond. Thank you for all of your replies! I am now 29 days post mirena removal and no AF as of yet. I am hoping soon so I can start to figure out where I'm at in my cycle. Good luck to you all and keep in touch! :hugs:

Yikes, ALW, sorry to hear that.

When I got the copper IUD out, AF came pretty much when I was expecting her. Had a couple unfruitful cycles since then, and am on CD4 now. Just going to keep trusting that God will give us baby number two right at the best time!

Thanks for all of your replies ! Anyone have any updates ? As for me, I'm still stuck in this waiting phase! But in the meantime It would be nice to keep in touch!

Update from me - I 'think' AF has started but seems quite intermittent?

I'm going to see if it starts properly in the next few days and will call today cd1 if not xx

I am curious as to whether or not it was truly AF for you???

Yes it looks like it! It didn't start fully until the following day so we have officially started the first cycle ttc :) how are you getting on? X
