TTC after a MMC

Hi Ladies,

I find myself back in the TTC group after a MMC on the 23/10/17. I should have been 12 weeks but unfortunately our precious baby was only measuring 6 with no heartbeat.
DH and I were devastated we had been ttc baby no2 for 9 months and the timings just seemed so perfect.
It took a long 2 weeks for the baby to actually pass with the help of medical management and the bleeding has now stopped.

I am now awaiting my first period so that we can start TTC again as we are desperate for a sibling for our DS.

Do any of you have positive stories of a healthy pregnancy and birth after a MMC? I know if I do manage to get pregnant again I will be so stressed about it happening again going through all that time thinking I am still pregnant only to find out it all went wrong weeks ago.

Thank you in advance and baby dust to all of you here in your TTC journeys.

So sorry :hugs:

I'm also TTC after a MC (19/10/17) Still waiting for first AF, but decided we aren't going to prevent it happening before.

Sending baby dust :dust:

Hi Gray, I'm so very sorry about your miscarriage. I also had a missed miscarriage. It is a terrible thing because not only do you lose your baby, but you no longer trust your own body. I felt very betrayed that my body did not let me know something was wrong.

I conceived again my first cycle after AF returned so it definitely can happen quickly. I will admit that this has been a stressful pregnancy for me. As you said, I have often feared I will find out that baby stopped growing and I just didn't know it. My first ultrasound at 11 weeks was absolutely terrible. I think I actually experienced mild PTSD symptoms. I didn't even want to look at the screen until my husband told me he could see the baby moving. Just being there brought it all back (it was at my first ultrasound last time that we discovered baby had stopped growing two weeks prior and didn't have a heartbeat). I am almost 24 weeks now though and everything seems to be going well so far.

Having people to talk to who have been through a mmc is very helpful. A lot of people don't understand the fear. Friends and family would say to me "if you haven't had any cramps or bleeding then there is no need to worry", but for me, I knew that things could go wrong even without those symptoms.

As time has gone on I have come to feel much more confident and comfortable with this pregnancy. I am very grateful I conceived again quickly. Despite the nerves that came with it, I think it has helped me heal.

Exactly this! I had no idea anything was wrong at all. With my previous miscarriage at 6 weeks it all happened straight away but this time I was still having pregnancy symptoms the whole time!

Sorry both for your losses!

MrsMummy we are also just letting things happen we before AF shows but not getting any hopes up.

Karoolia congratulations on your pregnancy I think I will end up booking in an early private scan because anxiety would just take over!

I am very sorry for your loss! It is very tough to deal with a MMC. I have a history of miscarriages, with a particularly nasty one before we conceived DS. I was a wreck at first, but I eventually came to relax and enjoy the pregnancy inasmuch as one can enjoy it. It is totally possible. You'll have your rainbow! :)
