TTC after an IUD

I am having my IUD removed soon planning to ttc #1 with my fiance, however there seems to be so little information online! For anyone else who is/was ttc after using an IUD for birthcontrol;
how long did it take for your cycles to go back to normal?
did your doctor advise to wait a period of time after removal?
did having the IUD impact your fertility in any way?
how long after removal did yourself/someone you know finally get a bfp?

I just want to know what to expect after removal and how it will impact my ttc journey, and any information that could be helpful thankyou!

Hi there!

I had my iud removed 14th August to try to conceive. I can't answer all your questions but I can tell you my doctor said we could try straight away. I will update you once I have had any sort of changes! Xx

I had my IUD removed this week and my midwife told me to wait 3 cycles to build back my uterine lining, but I've read from so many places that some providers don't caution this at all. Bleh. Now I'm torn on if we'll try next cycle or not. I could use the extra time to drop some lbs... Ha! But I'm so ready to try!!

I had my IUD removed in September. One doctor told me that because I'm young (28) i could start right away, but another doctor recommended waiting at least 1 cycle first. We actually ended up waiting until this month to try for financial reasons. I think waiting just makes sense in a way.

An IUD does change your uterine lining, so it only makes sense to me to give it time to build back up giving you the best chance.
