Hey ladies
Well I know this is very rare... since two obs at the hospital each with 30 years of experience said they had never seen this.... I'm hoping that there is someone in the bnb world who's been through this and has been able to ttc and or have a successful pregnancy after.
They aren't sure if it's molar, ectopic or placental tissue, and we won't know since they won't biopsy it since they are afraid I'll start bleeding and that they would then need to do a hysterectomy to stop the bleeding. But essentially the baby attached to where my c-section scar is in my uterus.
So here's my story I had a mmc, saw the heartbeat at 7.5 weeks, it was beating very slow, at 8.5 (Oct 2) weeks there was no heartbeat. I took misoprostol on oct 4, had some cramping, which I slept through, and passed 5 - 6 large clots. I checked each clot and don't think I passed the baby or the placenta. The u/s had said the sac was 2 cm (1 inch)x 2 cm, so I think that I should have been able to see it. Well I stopped bleeding within hours. I wasn't convinced that I was done, so on Oct 6 I did a second dose of misprostol. Nothing happened except I started bleeding. Oct 16, I had an ultrasound to confirm and they said I was clear, the tech did comment to me that my lining was still pretty thick but there should be no more clots. Fast forward Oct 26 I was still bleeding and did a pregnancy that was very positive. I called my family doc Oct 28 she wanted to see me, so saw her Oct 29, she sent me for bloodwork and another ultrasound. My family doc called me at home on the 30th in the morning telling me that I had to go right to the ER. I thought that I was going in for a d&c, since my hcg levels were still at 1200.
So I get to the ER and after another u/s I'm told that there is a mass in my uterus that is 4cm x 4cm, which may be cancer... anyways they ruled out molar due to my levels being so low and as such ruled out cancer.. for now... and started treating it like an ectopic. I got methotrexate at 4 am on Oct 31st. I was admitted to hospital because the mass had gone completely through the uterine wall, with only a thin cellophane thick layer holding my uterus together. They were so afraid of me rupturing that I wasn't allowed to leave the hospital. I finally was allowed to leave on Sunday, Nov 3rd. THere is no change in the mass yet, but since my levels are dropping, they have said the risk of rupture is less.
So they said we can try again 3 - 6 months after my levels are 0 and the mass is gone, this could take months.
Has anyone else ever experienced this??
Thanks
Kim
