Hi,
I am only one month past delivering my beautiful baby boy Lincoln, who was born sleeping at 21w3d. He had severe spina bifida. I had a doctors appointment yesterday, and the doctor (not my usual gp) advised to be taking 5mg folic acid for one to two months before conceiving again... I know the norm is 3 months, but in Australia they seem to advise one month.
I started taking 800mcg folic acid 3 weeks ago on the 3rd June, and then the higher dose of 5mg on the 15th June. My periods haven't returned yet, and the postpartum bleeding stopped about 12 days ago. I *may* have ovulated on around the 13th June... I don't have any reason to think that other than my high libido around then! Dp and I used the pull out method around that time (heat of the moment), so I am thinking there could be a very slight chance we are pregnant again.. which wouldn't be ideal due to lack of higher dose folic acid before hand.
I am wondering if there are any other mums out there who have or are ttc after losing a little one to spina bifida who would like to share their stories?
Have a nice day![flower :flower: :flower:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/flower.gif)
