Hello! I was in a TTC Facebook group that was very cliquey and if you weren't "in" no one really responded to you, so I branched out to find a forum.
I am 29 (30 in May) and married just over a year to my husband who is 27. We started trying this past March and I am always very thorough in researching and fairly scientific in the way I approach things, so I was doing OPKs from the start. After 6 months of not conceiving, I really felt that I knew my body and I knew I was timing everything right, so I suspected there was something wrong.
My PCP (who is also an OB) said if we wanted, we could do a sperm analysis on my hubby, but that since we hadn't been trying a year, there wasn't a lot they could do for me. The sperm analysis might not be covered by insurance he said, but the test would only be around ~$100 out of pocket, so we decided to do it. Honestly, I figured there would be no issue with it. My husband is healthy, works out, takes vitamins, eats well.
Well, imagine our surprise when his sperm count came back at only 1 million . While this isn't what we hoped for, it did give me some vindication that I wasn't crazy. Something was wrong. And it convinced my PCP to do some testing on me. I did my FSH test earlier this month which was normal and just had my 21 day progesterone today. I'm nervous for that result because I do have a worry that I don't ovulate. I've not been diagnoses with PCOS, but I have symptoms. This cycle was also really kind of weird for me. I usually have a 25 day cycle and andget my positive OPK day 13. This month I only got a close + day 11 but never a real positive.
DH goes for another sperm analysis and his FSH and LH tests on Monday and we see the urologist again a week from today. He has been taking the vitamins the urologist recommended, so I'm hoping for a better outcome this time, though if my progesterone comes back bad, then we start another chapter of this journey...
