TTC assisted conception

So Myself and my husband have been TTC for over 3 years now and are hoping to be sent off for IVF. We have had all the tests and appointments with a specialist, we just have one appointment left where we will hopefully be sent for IVF.

Just wondered if people could share their assisted conception stories. Where you successful, unsuccessful, private V nhs, worries, was the process stressful, where you offered counselling to help and was it helpful? I have so many questions and worries!

Please share your thoughts, any advice is appreciated.

Hi, do you know why you may need assisted conception? DH and I tried for 16 months then went for ivf. My story is in the first post of this link,which is now my pregnancy journal https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/pregnancy-journals/2268493-our-icsi-pixie-jelly-bean.html

We did a quick ivf cycle, 4 weeks. Many needles, an egg retrieval, icsi and a 3 day transfer, followed by progesterone pessaries.

I have pcos. And DH has vericole veins which resulted in a slow sperm count.

Feel free to ask any questions! I was very worried and stressed about it when the dr suggested it, but here we are.

And no we have no idea what is wrong. Hubbys sperm count was a little low but other than that nothing seems to be wrong. I have had the exploratory lap operation which was all normal and countless blood tests and scans but nothing.

Been trying for over 3 years so I think they suggested ivf as it has been so long.

Were you successful? I'm just so nervous about the injections and more so that we wont be successful. Xx

Just wanted to wish you luck!

I did many IUI's which did not work, then IVF (had to freeze all) and finally FET which resulted in our beautiful baby girl! We are now going to do FET for number 2.

It can be very scary and overwhelming going into the assistant conception world but everyone on here is really great and helpful! Feel free to ask any questions!

We did ivf. I'm in the US, so we paid ourselves. I really wasn't too anxious about it. It worked on the first try. We transferred one embryo. Our son turned one a week ago.

Thank you everyone for your replies, all very helpful.
We haven't tried iui but did try 3 cycles of clomid with no luck. Have seen the specialist and we are now being referred straight for ivf.
So glad to hear success stories, I'm very nervous about the process and we both just really want to start our family! So fingers crossed. Thanks again for all the lovely replies, it means a lot to get support and advice from people who have been in the same boat xx
