Hi, I am on Symbicort and have been now since early July. I was wodnering if the steroids in it plus the ventolin would be affecting my cycle and making me have a late O. I was on Pulmicort but after a week in hospital the specialist increased it to symbicort and two puffs twice a day. I can go down to one puff now if I think that is all I need but still twice a day. There have been times I have had to have extra ventolin. I have never suffered asthma before so this is all new to me.
At the same time I also found out I have a focal nodular neoplasm in my liver measuring at nearly 9cm by 7cm. Apparently from googling they can grow if estrogen increases or you get pregnant. It is a non cancerous benign area of abnormal tissue.
I really feel like 'someone' is telling me to give up my dream of one last baby :(

I don't know much about asthma and being pregnant, but my DD 15 has alot of trouble with her asthma..she's on Pulmicort twice a day and ventolin as needed which at this time of year is usually once or twice a day. She also goes on prednisone to try and help when its allergy season. I'm sure she'll have to figure things out when she's ever ready to have a family (hopefully eons from now) she'll be looking at the same issues. Good luck and I hope you get it under control soon...its the worst time of year right now if allergies are one of your triggers :(

angelicdragon. i am aware of the drugs you are taking but never heard of pregnancy related issues to taking them. i have two sisters with asthma, one of which has very bad asthma, who also takes a steroid inhaler as a daily preventative as well as the ventolin type. she has been hospitalised a number of times with bad asthma attacks. both sisters had no problems with their pregnancies, and as far as im aware, the drugs did not affect their cycles and ovulation. in fact, it was the high blood pressure that caused worry towards the end of my sisters pregnancy and not the fact she was asthmatic. this is something if it's playing on your mind, you really need to discuss with a specialist to take your worries away :hugs: the best of luck.
