Hey gals,
Love everyone but looking for some ladies going through the same type of trials as I am. I'm 32, and have been actively TTC for 14 mos. I had an early miscarriage at 5w2d in January and after 8 long months got pregnant in September only to have it diagnosed as Ectopic at 5w6d on October 3rd. I was treated w/100mg of methotrexate and it took the entire month of October to resolve itself.

Looking for ladies to begin my ttc journey with again for the long haul...

Some more about me....I love animals, yoga, babies of course, and cooking (and eating :))

I am determined to continue on the ttc journey naturally until it can be proven that I can't...my Dr. has faith so i guess I will too! She says third times the charm and I certainly hope she's right!

Look forward to meeting you all!

Hello! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I've had only one painful loss, got diagnosed with ectopic and treated with mtx on Sep 23. Although it did not resolve fast enough and had my right tube rupture on Oct 6. Internal bleeding sent me to the Operating room and had to have laparoscopic surgery to fix it. Fortunately I still have both my tubes and ovaries.. Which gives me hope. My husband and I have decided to start trying again in December. Wish you the best of luck in your journey and hope we both have success stories in the end! This has been a horrible thing to endure specially with it being my first pregnancy. But there's a rainbow for us after the storm!!

It is very difficult...and just when I'm thinking I'm out of the woods and feeling better I get hit with some emotional trigger and find myself depressed again...I'm not really looking forward to Thanksgiving with my very fertile cousin (she's actually my niece by marriage but only four years younger than me). She got pregnant first cycle, had that baby and on his one year birthday got pregnant again and is now 5 mos. I'm happy for her but it's kind of painful to be around her right now. I know that's terrible, but I just can't help it.

On another note, I think I might be through my first cycle today...just waiting for AF to show up as I had a nice temp drop today. That means I just have to make it through December and then I can get back to TTC! Hopefully it all goes by in a flash. With the holidays I'm sure it will fly by. Oh, and I have a minor hernia surgery on 12/10. Apparently I was born with an umbilical hernia that just desided to rupture two weeks ago :( I mean really God? give me a break.

Hi ladies, sorry for your losses :hugs:

I had an ectopic in January his year. It unfortunately wasn't diagnosed (I had normal AF so didn't know I was pregnant even though I was TTC). I had surgery and my right ovary was removed, baby had attached itself to it and it ruptured as baby grew. I needed 4 pints blood transfusion.

I then conceived again in April, but it was a MMC found at the 12 week scan  MC completed end of June. I've been trying again since then, but I had 2 infections and last month I passed a large clot so I wonder if I had retained tissue (HPT did go negative).

Anyway, I'm CD5 of a new cycle and really hope this is my month! I'm 40 now so I know with only 1 ovary my chances are limited, and I'm very grateful for the 2 boys I already have.

I hope you don't mind me asking Ltweety, but what is involved in the hernia op? I got an umbilical hernia when I gave birth to DS1 so just wondering what the procedure would be if it were to rupture?

Good luck to you, and to you too Janette. I hope you both conceive a rainbow very quickly!

It's relatively simple. My ruptured wall is actually opened up in two areas surrounding my naval and the fat tissue has been "strangulated" as they call it because it can't be pushed back in, meaning they are probably pretty small openings. Basically it's an outpatient surgery where you can be sedated and have local anesthesia. They make a small incision along the bellybutton like a smile to minimize visual scarring. Then they either snip off or push back in anything that is poking out and sew a mesh circle on with evaporating stiches to your abdominal wall to reduce the tension. It's about 3-5 day recovery period and then two weeks or so of "light duty" when it comes to exercise and lifting.

And I'm sorry for your losses too. I'm feeling a bit better today now that AF started (never thought I'd say that :P)and now I am officially through cycle #1.

Hey did anyone have normal periods after methotrexate ? I had 28 day cycles and my first one was 33 days long. And did you ovulate normally ?

Thanks hun. I don't think they will fix mine unless it ruptures like yours has, but nice to know what is involved.

Did they mention any repercussions of a pregnancy after the op? Would it need doing again or not?

Dtrisha - sorry I can't help, I didn't have methotrexate so don't know how that would affect Ov or cycle length.

Ltweety: I can't seem to get over the depression either, just when I though I was doing better another friend gets pregnant and those pictures of every step of their progress makes me so sad. The holidays are also painful as I was already planning on doing a gender reveal for Xmas. And telling my family on thanksgiving.

Dtrisha: I did not have regular periods before the pregnancy, I have PCOS which is what ultimately caused my ectopic. Have not yet had a "regular" period since I have been on birth control since my Hcg reached 0 after my surgery.

I honestly cannot wait to get off these pills and enjoy TTC, I refuse to become obsessed with it but the possibility of getting pregnant again keeps me going.

Hello ladies,
I've not been confirmed for a MC, but I'm pretty sure it's going to occur as we went to the ER yesterday and had US done with nothing shown, they think I'm having an ectopic pregnancy and my hcg has not gone up, it's actually gone down. I've found no positive 'success' stories, so I'm certain I'm going to get bad news tomorrow.
I'm trying to fight the depression, but it's pretty hard. While this is hard I'm glad that I'm not alone. But the worst part is that I had already told my parents, his parents, and four coworkers (as I was coming in and out of the office for dr.'s visits).

Wishin- I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I've just been trying to think positively. It's not easy but we all just have to stick together and give each other advise and strength. We had told both our parents as well. And most of my close friends. It was so hard to tell them what was going on. But I keep thinking that it wasn't meant to be and the next pregnancy everything will be fine. If you need ectopic support there is a ectopic pregnancy trust online and it's very helpful. I've found so much hope in other people's stories. Try to be positive and surround yourself with positive people.

If you don't mind me asking how far are you ?

Hi Dtrisha,
I don't mind at all, I thought I was closer to 6 weeks. It is hard to judge because my periods are so abnormal and I was diagnosed with PCOS so we getting help trying to conceive. Thank you for the support, I've been pretty down all day.

Yeah I was right around 5-5 1/2. It's like you don't even get to be happy about your pregnancy. You get happy hat your pregnant then a week or so later you're upset. It's not fair.

I completely agree! It's so incredibly frustrating! It also doesn't help that everywhere we go I see bumps and cute kiddos. :-/
We'll get through this, but in the meantime I'll have some ice cream.

Yeah I work with kids so that's hard a lot. The moms are always pregnant too :(. So hard everyday to look at them.
Have some for me too!

That's tough wishin4bump21. I know how devastating it is to just wait and to feel pregnant but know it's going nowhere. It does get easier, I promise. Once the HCG is back to zero and you can start looking forward it helps A LOT. What are you betas? Do they think you need to be treated with methotrexate?

Hello ladies!

I went into surgery Monday evening or a possible ruptured tube. Thankfully it did not rupture, but it was bleeding out the other end causing pain and issues. They removed the pregnancy and did a D&C. I'm in a ton of pain and I'm so bummed that we won't be able to try for three months as I heal. However I'm hopeful, my doctor is amazing and said that I am not allowed to get depressed because we got pregnant, it just wasn't in the right spot. I'm hopeful as we all should be.

We'll get through this and we'll have beautiful babies in our arms soon enough, I'm sure of that! Love you all! Yes, this is slightly the vicodin talking, but I do know that we all need to stay strong and positive.

Sorry wishin4bump21! :hugs:It's such a tough process to go through. Were you able to save your tube then? That's great news. October and November were tough months of waiting but I have decided to try again this month despite the recommended three months. I feel that it's worth the risk and that my chances are good so I don't want to wait any longer. I hope that things clear up for you very soon and the pain should pass shortly. Try to stay positive (which it sounds like you are) and there is still time!

Hello again ladies!

I wanted to reach out again and see if anyone has any tips for recovery from laproscopic surgery? It has been almost four weeks to the day from my surgery.

I still have pain on my left side (this side has hurt the worst since the surgery) and I can't lay on my stomach yet, which is driving me nuts. I still hurt when I move from laying on my back to my stomach.

The hubby and I have had relations a few times and there's been no pain from that, but I'm desperate to start trying again. The kicker? I can't start trying until February. I've never wanted a month to go by faster than now!! I typically love January (my birthday's on the 21st) but I need this month to fly by!

Lastly, I haven't had AF visit yet. Again I'm anxious for her to get started so I can figure out when my period in February will start.

Any insight or tips would really help. Thanks so much for being there for me ladies! I truly appreciate it.

Hi Wishing, I was completely recovered from laparoscopic surgery within 7 days with no pain at all. The only thing that lasted ages was a small lump under the left hand side incision but it didn't hurt. Not sure if I'm a quick healer though because I had an episiotomy with DS1 and 3rd degree tear with DS2, but had no pain from the stitches after either - I know lots of people say the after-pain is the worst bit so this makes me think I'm a bit weird! :haha: Maybe you should speak to the ward that carried out the laparoscopy and ask their advice?

As for getting AF back, my O was delayed about a week but then I had a really short luteal phase so my AF came at expected time. It is common for it to be delayed around 2 weeks after any MC though. Fingers crossed she shows soon for you :hugs:
