Hi All,

After some adivce please if poss!. We have been trying to concieve for the last yr. I was dx with pcos when I was 14yrs old so knew it wouldnt be easy. I seem to have a good gp who has done all the usual tests, that still confirm my pcos but also that my progesterone is too low <3.
We have asked for nhs referal but to be told that my bmi and weight are too high, I am 5ft and 13st 3lb so a bmi of 37.3. I have been told I need to loose 3 stone before we can get referal or to start Clomid :growlmad:
I have tried so hard to loose weight but seem to get nowear. Just feel like we cant win.

Thanks Faye xx

Hugs! TTC can be very frustrating! Good luck with losing weight... I don't really know what a stone is, haha, not used to that term. But weight watchers diet seems to work well, at least where I am from it seems. Good luck!

Hi hon I have recently lost 2.5stone to help me in ttc and I did it through slim fast but was extremely strict with myself to lose the weight. I wish you lots of luck in ttc hope you get to see a bfp soon xx

that sounds very frustrating. good luck though!!

did they check your thyroid levels?
it could be the reason why you can't lose weight even if you try to.

Taking a Vitamin B Complex can help with low progesterone. Perhaps you could try that in the mean time. It's good for your overall health, anyways. Try taking about 50mg from CD1. If no effect, consider raising your dose. Don't take more than 200 mg as it can cause nerve damage.

aww good luck losing weight hun. dont get too stressed about it, im sure youll be able to start clomid in no time x

That's seems quite unfair and discriminatory that you have to be a certain weight in order for you to receive medical help to conceive. It's like adding more stress to an already stressful situation. Terrible. As far as weight loss goes- do you know how to swim? I lost 35lbs by swimming three to four times a week each swim an hour to an hour and a half and just reducing my portions. It's a slow and healthy way to lose weight and keep it off I find.
Let their nastiness be motivation for you and show them you can do it! Good luck to you:)

Keep you head up! It can be very difficult. Just continue to eat healthy and do the best you can. DH and I have been ttc for just over 3 years.

Despite your weight and pcos, anything is possible. My cousin was overweight with pcos and now has 2 children. None were planned. Don't give up hope!!

Thank you for all the replys :) . Thyroid and glucose level all within normal range. So just have to get my weight down now!, have joined the gym and going to start swimming and also try hypnotherapy! (any experiences?). Didnt have a period in June, thats unusual for me even with my pcos I have always had a period!. So not sure whats goign on really!. will keep you update. xxx
