Hi everyone!
New member, so sorry if i get some of the lingo wrong!
so here goes!:laugh2:
my partner and i are currently trying to conceive :sex: and i have calculated my ovulation to be today.
Last period started on the 11th August and lasted till the 14th. So by calculation and symptoms i should be ovulating today (August 24th, 2015), my partner and myself have been copulating every day sometimes twice daily in preparation for ovulation. :happydance:
But today i am having light bleeding. I am confused because even with implantation i thought that happened closer to your expected period? so could this be implantation on ovulation day? or have i got my period early? any answers would be appreciated.

Some women bleed around ovulation. It's definitely not implantation bleeding unless you ovulated much earlier than expected. Implantation bleeding usually occurs 7-12 days after ovulation since it takes days for the egg to move down from the Fallopian tubes to the uterus.

Are you sure you ovulated today though? The only way to really know if you ovulated is by temping. OPK also help as they tell you when to expect ovulation (usually 12-36 hours after a positive test). There are other ways as well like checking your CM, but I find OPK and temping to be the best ways to find out when to expect ovulation (OPK) and how to confirm which day it happened(temping).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask :) We're all here to help!

thank you for answering. I haven't been on the pill for awhile (but we weren't actively trying, "if it happens, it happens type attitude") and have never had bleeding between periods. My cervical mucous is creamy so maybe i am not ovulating? i have been checking my discharge and 'other' symptoms, but i have not done a ovulation test or checked my basal temperature. i did have clear slippery discharge earlier on from end of period to now. i think i may have to start temping! i have some ovulation tests coming. Also, can i temp at any time of the day? or does it have to be in the morning.

I see. Usually you'll have an eggwhite CM a few hours to 48 before ovulation(sometimes a bit after). So if it's creamy, you're probably not ovulating today.

Sounds like you're getting ready for the journey! :)
Temping needs to be done at the same time everyday(or within 30 min from the time you chose) and done after at least 3 hours of consecutive sleep. Also, it's best to keep the thermometer close by because you should temp before even sitting up in bed.
Super annoying, I know :haha: But it works.

The reason why it's best to check your own ovulation signs is because all programs will just go with the average depending on your info. Ex. Every program, app etc, always says I ovulate CD13, however I actually ovulated CD15 last cycle. If I wouldn't have known this, chances are I might have missed the egg and not have gotten my bfp this month! So it's good to check yourself instead of rely on what a program or app says. Every woman is different and apparently some of us don't like following the fertility "rules" :haha:
