TTC - Hypothyroidism

So, it has been 6 weeks since I have been on synthroid 75mcg. I had my blood taken today to see where I am at now. My TSH was only 0.04?! How did it drop so low so quick? They didn't seem too concerned. They just told me sometimes it takes a little while to find the correct dose and they are dropping me to 50mcg and then I will go back in 4ish weeks to see if its higher. I don't feel like I am hyper. I would think I would have symptoms of hyperthyroid but I feel basically the same.

I am curious as to how being hyper would affect TTC. Maybe in the same way that being hypo does? Anyone know?

I've been on levo for almost 7 years. My dose increases a couple times while pregnant and they after baby they bring me back down. (I have 4 kids and ttc #5) I only get pregnant when I'm medicated. There's times where I've been off my medicine like last summer. I was off it for a couple months and my tsh was 25.05, I couldn't even get out of bed to get to the doctor! My levels had been good until this past December, my tsh was 10.98. Just had mine tested last week and I'm at 1.48. I was worried I might not have ovulated this cycle but after those results I'm pretty confident I did. I hate living with this. I have Hashimoto. My tsh is good but I still feel pretty crappy. And for anyone who is told their levels are good but still feel crappy, don't give up. Doctors don't always run a full panel. Your tsh might be ok but you t3 or t4 and whatever else might not be. Plus sometimes switching meds helps. I wanna try armour. I'm on 200 mcg of levo.

Its all so confusing.
At my last app it was TSH 4.89 and T4 18
The 2 that were bad... they upped my meds and I have to say i feel so much better. My anxiety has gone, im not as tired, ive lost 3lbs and last month for the 1st time in year i could tolerate alcohol!

I really hope my levels have gone down

Ashley does levels are perfect for getting pregnant. Fingers crossed

0.04 is too low. I think it needs to be 0.4-2. Mine is .04 so not even a 0.1. Hopefully i ca get my TSH to closer to a 1.
Summer that is a great TSH! Hopefully this is your month!

That's a bummer. I never even researched good thyroid levels. I really thought anything under 5 was good. And thank you!

Thanks for sharing your story. And wow! A TSH of 25.05. My highest was 12 something but I was really sick and hospitalized. Turns out if you get sick enough it can cause your numbers to elevate pretty quickly. They increased my dose and I've been with an endo ever since.

I get a full panel done once a year now that it's steady. Currently on 112 mcq and was told sometime in the future they'll be removing it. My mom had hers out when we were kids and is on a smaller dose of levo than I am. This reminds me I have to make an appointment and get bloodwork done!

I went to see my GP this morning - he wasnt too concerned due to my progress but having bloods tomorrow and will put mine up to 100mg!

Fingers crossed all goes well, had 4 positives this morning so im pretty sure im pregnant!

Congrats, buttercup!

I have a major history of loss + most of the symptoms of hypothyroid, and finally went in to see someone about it. It was a disaster. I was referred to a specialist that I can't go to. I ended up ordering my own thyroid panel and I'm waiting on the results. I should have them by next week!

I'm a bit nervous about it because on the one hand, I don't want to have to avoid basically all of my favorite foods. But on the other hand, it would be great to have some answers, and a one-pill-a-day solution.

Whoops. Nothing to see here. :haha:

I hope you get some answers, Dill! Hopefully, the panel does more than TSH. It takes TSH, T3, T4, and I think one or two others to see the full picture. My GP always just did TSH and my endo did the full panel to give me my full diagnosis. It's really nice to know and once those meds start working it feels really good. I can always tell when my thyroid is off now that I know what "normal" is supposed to feel like.

In the UK they start you up with a low dosage and up it every 3 months! I was really ill last year with it before I knew something was up and they only started me on 25mg. I think they're so afraid in case it ends up going into hyper! I just want to start feeling better haha.

They upped it in Feb at my last appointment and will get seen again in May. I rang them up today because so many things online say if you are over 3.5 with TSH it could be bad! I kinda knew i would have been...

Oh no, that sucks! I love all those foods and it doesnt help that I have eaten spinach, sweet potatoe and peanuts today :dohh:

Thank you so much for replying though Ashley, ur a star xx

I’m in the uk and I was started on 100mg ! Test 6 months later then on 125mg, that was 6 months ago. Had a blood test 4 months ago and was just told all ok. This is my 4th month ttc2 and no luck so far, my dd was conceived month 2 (could have been month 1 as we didn’t try properly)

I found out this week (after going to my drs to tell them that i was pregnant) i have secondary hypothyroidism which only affects the TSH. Mine was at 10 thats why i had a low dosage. Im on 75mg levothyroixine and my levels seem to have balanced! Haven't had my hospital blood test results back but im sure they will up it anyway

Well, after having a panel done, it turns out my thyroid is just fine. I'm shocked. On to more tests soon. :(

Just for my records mainly!
I had me redraw while on 50 mcg and my TSH is 1.98. I also had my Reverse t3 taken and it was 19. But I guess I should have also had my t3 or Free T3 taken along with the RT3 to see if the 19 was normal? Oops.

Before taking meds my Free t4 was 1.04. I have not had that retested
Next time I go in for a redraw which I probably wont have done for 2-3 months, I will probably request a full panel.
