I'm sure most of the folks on here are women, but in this case I'm a guy.

My wife and I have been TTC for nearly a year without much luck. We did have a mc last year in February. My wife has fairly irregular periods ranging from 25 days to 42 days!

We've been tracking period lengths and just (last two months) started tracking ovulation with a saliva test kit.

I'm kind of a stats geek, so I've been tracking a lot of things related to our TTC and noticed something odd (chart attached).... I have been tracking (for a year) the number of days in her cycle as well as the number of days in which she is excessively moody. I'm not talking about a little squabble or disagreement, but major melt-downs/complaining about everything.

Maybe I'm trying to make a pattern out of something that doesn't exist, but it almost seems to be, from looking at that chart, that the months where there is a shorter period she experiences extreme mood swings/moodiness. This pattern seems to continue from June through January, at which point we have a major mood swing, followed by extremely long periods.

In April she was extremely moody for most of the month, and this followed basically having no period at all in March (a 37 day period in February and a 39 in April).

Does this mean/indicate any possible things? It just seems very odd to be a coincidence. We were thinking of trying a B-Complex (even though initially her LF seems to start around 12-14 days).

Have you both been to see GP? this could explain why no luck in pregnancy yet....Ask about the abnormal Periods too...im a nurse, and have had difficulty for over a year now...we have undergone a few tests that could possibly help you. blood tests as to when you wife is ovulating, seaman tests to see if there strong swimmers or not?

No, we haven't seen anyone yet (for either of us). We figured we'd try ovulation tests (which do seem to indicate positive ovulation) and a few other things first.

I'm not sure how she will respond to a suggest to see the GP about this. Any suggestions on how to bring it up? She's been very resistive of things in the past, "well we got pregnant once (ended in a mc) so things obviously work"...

Hmmmm ok...Its not easy suggesting this to a women, my fiance did it too me and i bite his head off, but now i see he done this for me and is the best thing we have ever done, now i no there is nothing wrong it puts your mind as ease.

Probley the best way to bring it up is to say "Have you spoke to your doctor about it and maybe they can help?" i think thats the only way to see what she thinks on the matter.

i'm still trying with the ovulation tests, but to be honest there not that great and for the good ones are very expensive.

the doctor can do his/hers own tests to see when your wife is ovulating. You should always get 2 opinions, i mean two different doctors. Some may say something you haven't tried yet whilst the other may not be very helpful...
