My husband and I have been married for almost 3 months now and we have been trying "officially" since November 1st. Well, attempt #1 did not create a miracle this month. The Crimson Visitor showed up this morning. :nope:

SO...on to trying for the month of December. I graduated Pre-Med so I understand statistically how this usually plays out (even though there is nothing usual about this process) but I am anxious to say the least. I am one of 13 so I am quite used to babies and I have wanted to be a mommy for as long as I can remember. So now that we are officially trying, my hopes are high and my attitude remains positive. I guess I am here for support and words of advice/encouragement. Who knows how long it will take to actually get pregnant but maybe that is half the fun? My first TTC appointment is Monday so maybe with this round, my physician can help me better pin-point my ovulation cycle.

I work nights so taking my BBT (and it being consistent!) is hard to do. Any advice from other night time workers out there TTC??

I work nights and find BBT has still been accurate in the months I have temped. Just be sure to temp after at least three hours of solid sleep x

Before my miscarriage, my husband and I conceived on our first attempt. I didn't do temping our anything, just kept track of my cycles for about a year before hand to get a good idea of the length and everything. The app I used was pretty shot on in knowing when I'd ovulate, and I also keep track of my cervical mucous, which was the best way for me. We DTD the two days before ovulation, day of and day after. Not sure which day was the day, but we got pregnant!

But I know everyone is different and maybe your cycle isn't that ready to pinpoint. Then again, it was your first time trying do don't get discouraged! :) How have you been keeping track of things?

Also, congratulations on your marriage!:wedding:

So sorry to hear about your sweet little one :( I hope that healing finds you well! (And I absolutely means that!)

With advice from my dear momma who has been pregnant many times over! And with the assistance from FertilityFriend App on my iPad. It tracks EVERYTHING so it has been extremely helpful this first round. BUT I am not able to exactly pin-point my EXACT O Day because my temp chart looks like the Rocky Mountains and it is literally all over the place. Up & down, up & down. This time around we are a little better prepared. We bought an OPK and better plotted out when I should test with the OPK and when to "try". We aren't frustrated (yet!) but hopeful. Any advice?? I am getting ready to switch to a normal day shift so I believe that will help. It is extremely hard to make "it" happen when one is sleeping and the other is working.

AND thank you so much for the well wishes :) We met almost 10 years ago so it was a milestone in the making for a LONG time. Probably like this baby will be!! ;-)

I try! But I just get "jagged" results. Nothing that makes sense or looks like a "normal" BTT chart. I try to sleep the best I can and some days are better than others. I can't always go to bed and wake-up at the same time or after the same amount of sleep so I know those things play a role. I am switching to days December 15th so hopefully this will help! What thermometer do you use?? I have a basal thermometer that I use. I use it with my patients but maybe I need something better??

Oh that's good about the opk. I know a lot of women use them with success, I haven't tried yet though. And the day shift should definitely help keep better track of the bbt. Keep us posted on how things go! :) Oh but have tried feeling for your cervix or cervical mucous? I know a lot of women are weirded out by this, I don't think I'll ever be able to actually feel for my cervical position, but I know a l lot of women do that too and good it works well. Whatever gets you your baby! :D

I haven't....yet. But I have read a lot about it. I am nursing staff so I work with things on a daily basis that would make most people's skin crawl ;) As soon as AF is over with in a few days, I can give it a shot! Anything for a BFP is right! And I see my OB-GYN on Monday so I am positive that she can give me pointers. Keep me updated on your journey too!! <3

I have started trying the Clearblue Fertility Monitor -- still feeling it out. You are supposed to test first thing in the "morning", within the same 3 hour window, so I think you would be able to set this at your normal wake-up time even if it's not technically morning. It helps measure both high fertility days (rising estrogen) and peak fertility (LH surge). The downside is that it's expensive :(

I think this plus charting makes me feel like I am learning about my cycle. I use the Kindara app for charting -- just basal temp and CM for now...I am working up to figuring out cervix positioning, but have been resisting so far! I don't know why ;-) They have a ton of knowledge articles in the app/on their blog.

I have the Clear Blue OPK but I haven't looked into the fertility monitor yet. Maybe next month if December is a bust? But that sounds like a better way to go until I switch to day shift. Thanks!! <3 <3 (P.s. I haven't done cervical positioning yet either but who knows, it may be worth doing!).

Congrats on getting married! DH and I tied the knot on 5/31 and that took us 7 years so I hear where you're coming from.

As well, we got a BFN on our first cycle but I ended up having a long cycle and so I'm sure I O'd later than I thought. I don't use OPK's and found monitoring my BBT made me turn eveyrthing into a science project so it made DTD less fun. So this month I'm only checking my CM and we're DTD every other day for two weeks around O. That's what my OB suggested in my appointment unless we go more than 6 months without a BFP.

I wish you luck!

Thank you!! And congratulations on getting married yourself! It was worth the wait, huh? ;-)

I literally just got back from my OB-GYN appointment and we decided to give the OPK a shot and see how it goes. We too are trying to avoid making everything so planned and processed but at the same time, we are hoping to get pregnant fairly quickly. We plotted the perfect time to do the BD so we will give it a shot and hopefully we have BFP for December!! So much good luck to you!! I wish you and your DH well <3 <3 P.s., we also have a turtle ;) "Donnie"...short for Donatello! And three Cocker Spaniels!

That's great I hope it works for you too! We seem to have BD around the right time so I'm very hopeful this cycle too. Good luck!

Donnie is so adorable!!!! I have an obsession with turtles and all our animals are our little babies.

Hey, hun :) I also got married just over 4 months ago, and we started trying October! For some stupid reason I really expected it to happen the first month, we really went for it as we all do. We're on the second cycle, but my cycles are 37 days long so it feels like O takes forever to turn up. It's frustrating to say the least. I'm one of 7 kids funnily enough and I've wanted my own baby for as long as I can remember so these bfp's can't come quick enough can they! Good luck and baby dust :dust: xxx
