I'm new to this forum and am looking for support and any help from others out there TTC over 35 and with fertility issues. My husband and I have been trying for 8 months with no success. A family friend set us up with her husband who is a reproductive endocrinologist as i am a type 2 diabetic - insulin controlled - and thought the DM2 might be causing problems. Turns out I have low progesterone - which seems like a simple enough fix but we also got the surprise that my husband (age 28) has 97% abnormal sperm morphology. The dr didn't seem too concerned with that said many men w under 4% end up conceiving but my husband was devastated. We read up and found some hope in some threads here. I read that supplements can help his morphology I read that more frequent sex can help and I don't know what to believe!!! This is overwhelming. In addition to this our insurance doesnt cover the progesterone meds he prescribed and since the dr is not local to us he suggested we go have a PCT done by my OBGYN to check the cervical mucous. They had no clue what the test was. Id like to try a local fertility dr but this dr made me feel that most fertility specialists jump right to expensive IVF before trying other options. Im new to all of this so im feeling frustrated and overwhelmed and just looking for some support. Thanks everyone!!!!!!
