Hi there ladies :hi:

My names Sarah Louise and me and my OH are currently ttc our first baby, it's hard because I have PCOS and the gynaecologist is not willing to help us until October!! So we are trying naturally.

It's not they helpful though as I don't get af on my own my cycles go on for ever and I mean literally! Currently on cycle day 71 and it sucks

I can't stop eating, I can't lose weight and I can't get pregnant. I'm taking pregnacare conception and OH taking well man conception, PCOS is constantly on my mind and I'm starting to get down. It's hard watching people who are pregnant and have babies/children, it's especially hard for me as it's in my family, my sister is pregnant and it's my mum and dad's first grandchild

Hi Sarah,
I am also ttc #1 with pcos but for a very long time now. I totally understand how you feel. I'm the oldest of my siblings and all of them have children now. The best thing you can do for pcos is eat healthy and lose weight. Walking is mostly what I do because it is easy and relaxing. I've lost around 30 pounds since Jan, and in March I had my first natural cycle since October. I've also been taking Metformin for pcos and my doc started me on Femara this cycle so I'm currently close to the end of my tww. Praying for a bfp this cycle.
I wish you the best of luck, and hope you get bfp soon!!!:hugs:

Hi Sarah!
I also have PCOS - I'm not insulin resistant, although I used to be. I lost weight by cutting out sugary drinks, and cutting WAY down on fatty foods. Easier said than done, trust me. I know.

Have you ever heard of Potassium Iodide? Without fail, it ALWAYS brought on my cycle. Always. Usually takes 3 weeks. After 6 1/2 years of trying naturally, with oral fertility medication, injections, etc., my husband and I are finally expecting our first baby.

This is our first ever BFP in all those years. My magic combination was Femara, Menopur, Ovidrel + IUI. I hope you get your BFP soon. Feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to or vent to! I know all about it! :hugs:

hey.I know the frustration, waiting for them to help you. I dont understand why they make you try for a year before helping when your cycles are soo long. My cycles range from 3 to 4 months, but can go on as long as 9 months. The fertility testing is a slow process, and we are impatient! If you can go to another gynae then do it, why wait if you dont have too. And if you cant go to another gynae then I guess all you can do it wait.
I understand how hard it is to lose weight for us pcos'ers but it certainly is doable. look up Paleo diet/caveman, and see if this is something you can do. the weight will fall off and it really helps with women who have pcos. I received my first BFP in feb, sadly ended in miscarriage...after I lost the baby I went on the paleo diet and received my first normal period (30 days after miscarriage bleeding stopped.) shortest cycle I ever had.
Metformin also helps with weight control, I lost over 20 pounds without trying, seriously. Good Luck

I feel your pain. I have PCOS too, and we have been TTC for 4 years, the last 9 months of which, my spouse has been infertile due to chemotherapy.
I have never been able to lose that terrible PCOS weight gain, even with metformin. The only thing that worked was Primal/Paleo diet. I have lost 20 lbs in two months and feel great!
Please please please give it a try and see if you can start to lose the weight that way. It will balance your insulin levels out and that helps with the hormone issues.
Sadly I haven't seen a chance in my cycles yet, but the other health benefits are good enough for me!

Hang in there, your cycles will improve. Takes longer for some women, depending on the damage we have made by all the toxins we have come in contact with.
