DH has just informed me that he's ordered our turkey crown from the lovely butchers next door to his shop - we usually get our xmas beef from them but we have family coming this year so have decided to do the traditional turkey. DH must have mentioned to the butcher that I was a bit nervous about cooking it properly because he's offered to cook it for us free of charge and have it all ready for DH to pick up after work on xmas eve. Apparently he supplies cooked turkeys to all the big hotels in the area so he said it's no hassle just to cook ours while he's at it, seen as its for a friend. What a nice man! It would certainly save a LOT of hassle on the day and guarantee it's cooked perfectly but I'm a bit worried about reheating it in case it goes dry. He says all the hotels reheat it and they don't get any complaints at £60+ per head so I guess it must be ok? Also he said he can slice it for us too or just leave it whole if we want it is a centerpiece on the table. And he's throwing in a pot of yummy turkey gravy for free
So what should I do - cooked or uncooked, and (if cooked) slices or whole?
