I saw a thread about toddlers having tvs in their bedrooms and I was a bit surprised. I don't know anyone my age (19) with a tv in their bedroom but most people seemed to be saying that their child would get one at 12/13 so do most people have them? Maybe not having them is just an irish thing  If I had I'd never resist the temptation of watching it all night

OH and i have a tv in our room (no kids yet). i'd prefer not to, but we only have a one bedroom apartment and three tv's. one is already in storage.

it is nice to have when i'm sick and don't want to get out of bed.

I don't have a TV in my room. I used to, before I had kids. I guess we had two TV's back them. It was alright, but now I just have too much stuff to have one, plus, when I am in bed, I am ASLEEP. There is no time to lay and watch TV. My kids will NEVER have a tv in their rooms. I keep the computer in the main room and also the TV. If we are going to lay like veggies and watch tv, we are going to do it as a FAMILY! LOL!

We have one in our room cause my hubby and I love watching movies in bed together. Our step son doesn't have one for his room and we won't put one in this baby's room either :)

I used to until i met OH..then when we moved in together that stopped lol.
DS1 (8yrs) has a TV/dvd/xbox in his room though. Mainly cause i cant be bothered watching him play on the xbox in the living room lol..

no tv in our room either though I did have one growing up. That was mostly though because my dad kinda took over the one in the living room and watched very kid inappropriate shows.....

We have one in our room as we enjoy cuddling up in bed and watching movies together but Ella certainly doesn't have one in her room and never will. Once she is old enough to work and buy her own tv, she can have one in her room but not until then.

We have a TV in our bedroom but have never used it. It was from my bedroom when I moved out of my mum and dads and they said I could take it.

I don't have kids yet but they won't be having a TV in their bedroom anyway so that's what I voted!

yeah we do but it only gets used for dvds and playstation and mainly by OH.

I dont but if i want to watch a film in bed il take the lap top up

we do but it drives me mad oh falls aslepp with it on and it gets in my dreams x

i did growing up! but i dont know, i really dont like it! although we have been known to have sleep overs in our living room occassioanlly lol.

as for kids, no and they wont. i wouldnt feel comfortable. if i did give in then they def wouldnt have tv in their room, there is no way of controlling what they watch and i feel a bedroom is for sleeping and i wouldnt be happy with them being up all night watching tv/videos/playing games!

ugh I have morning brain, I picked the wrong one. I do have a television in my room but I never watch it (sends me to sleep), my oh does though. My daughter doesn't have a tv in her room but will do once her room is decorated, she has a little lcd which is used for the ps2.

We only just got a tv in bedroom, but we are really enjoying watching movies in bed together etc and its useful for when OH plays the playstation :)

We do, much to my dismay, i dont like having a tv in the bedroom, but i gave in after OH kept nagging me

Brooke wont have one in her bedroom for a long long time yet, she can watch tv on our bed if she wants to.

We do have a TV in our room - OH watches it at bed time usually whilst I'm zzzzzz.
I always had a TV in my room whilst growing up.
Amy doesn't have one, and won't have one until she is a teenager at least.

I have 1 in my bedroom, i like to put it on when im putting my ironing away lol. I never watch it before going to sleep, although if i was feeling lazy i might watch it in the morning before i get up. I never had one in my bedroom growing up though, cant imagine putting one in LO's room.

We have one in our room and DD has one in her room. She has had one in her room for about 1 1/2 years. Its easier as on a morning she will get up and watch her TV until OH and I get up :D Gives us a little bit of a lie in  x

we have a huge tv in our room (42inch) I love it and I love watching films in bed and snuggling up with the kids. I dont watch it all the time, sometimes go for weeks lol but its nice to have. We have it in one of those cabinets so can shut it away if we want.

My son has tv in his room but its not connected to any channels, He can only play his xbox on it.

We have a TV in our bedroom - I'd prefer not to but DH insists (what IS it about Men and TVs?? )

The children all had TVs in their bedrooms from when they were about 12 - definitely not as toddlers - because it saved all those arguments about what to watch and spared me from endless music channels and programmes that I'd want to watch about as much as I want bamboo slivers stuck under my fingernails :haha:

There were parental controls on them though, and there was a 'lights out' policy that included TVs being off. The computer was always downstairs and in clear view.
