Two Middle names

We will be finding out in 2 weeks what we are having. DH and I managed to sit down and pick out names. Only thing is both the boy and girl names are so short, and I think we should add a second middle name to it. I know it is pretty popular to do this.

My hubby on the other hand is not so keen on the idea. Because he has 2 middle names, His complaint on it is there is never options for a second middle name on forms and such.. which I think is silly reason to not like the idea.. I do understand his frustration because he has 2 fairly long middle names.

Anyway,

Name - Moira Lynn
Name - Liam Joop (YO)

They are really short names. What do you ladies think?

I think they're fine.

I really dislike two middle names unless it's for sentimental reasons, like you want to honour two family members. I think it's a bit pointless to throw in an extra name just because.

My DH also has two middle names and it's not like the bane of his existence or anything but I've heard him so many times giving his name and people getting confused because he has two middle names. It doesn't seem like it should be that confusing but apparently it is.

I think since your husband has experience with it and dislikes it, I'd give him the power on this one.

We are having 2 middle names, but for sentimental reasons. And I said no way at first, but I've come around to it. I don't think it matters that your chosen names are short

My daughter is ivy Ann. Short n simple . I do not see the need for 2 middle names IMO seems pointless

"Pointless" probably isn't the word to use. I think it's unnecessary to use two middle names that don't mean anything. But we are having Elizabeth Jayne for middle names - to honour each of her grandmothers. My mum would be devastated if we only used the name after my MIL, and same im sure if we just used a name to honour my mum and not my MIL.

But I didn't ask for my reasons to be questioned. The second middle names I am considering happen to be very sentimental to me.

I deleted my post seeing as how nobody managed to take it for what it was . An opinion which is what was asked for I also didn't say your name choices were less of a name. I was given as example as to why you wanted to use another middle name. I won't be posting on this again to save any upset as this was not my intention.

But that's exactly what people have told you. I think your reasoning does matter. If it's because the names are short then I don't see a need and it seems like filler. If you REALLY want to use two names because they're meaningful to you then it's a different story IMO.

Sorry not everyone told you what you wanted to hear, I guess.

I have two middle names, they are not for sentimental reasons, my parents just liked the names. I don't mind it at all, it has never been an issue for me. I don't think you have to have a "reason" for having two middle names, anymore than you need a reason to give a middle name at all! Our baby will have two middle names, one will be my last name (OH and I have different last names) and the other is just a name that we like. If you want the baby to have 5 middle names then go for it! You don't have to have reasons and it doesn't have to be sentimental, it's your baby and you can do what you want!

Thank You! My mom is not so keen on the 2 middle name thing either. She isn't really keen on our name choices at all. I personally like the idea of 2 middle names.
