Two vessel cord

My wife had her 20-week ultrasound, yesterday. They notified us that she has a two vessel cord which usually is not a problem. After the ultrasound, the doctor came in and told us that she could only see one kidney developing at this point. We have now been referred to a pediatric urologist. I am a little worried. Anyone with experience in this situation

Hi! I don't have any experience with this but I didn't want to read and run. My friend also has a two vessel cord and so far everything is developing ok, she just needs closer observation at this point. You might find more answers in the gestational complication section. Hope everything goes well at your appointment with the nephrologist. I'm a nurse and I do know quite a few kids with a single kidney and they manage just fine, although I would imagine it depends on what the underlying problem is. Hoping the same for your little one!
