Hey I was wondering if anyone could take the time to read my personal statement and tell me what I should change ?

I don't wanna post it on here so if you are willing to read it for me let me know and I will PM it to you.

Thanks !

I am a midwife and if you are not a member already I totally recommend the above site. Full of support, advise from those considering midwifery, a student or post qualifying. :)

I've just finished a College Diploma in Health Studies ready to go to Uni this year to do Midwifery (before baby was known about lol). I applied thru UCAS for all the Uni's I could near me, but with 100's and 100's of people applying with stupidly limited Uni places (26 at Coventry Uni) I was unsuccessful this year.
After feedback from the Uni's I'd recommend you trying to get some sort of work experience to add to your Personal Statement and make sure it's based totally on your passion for Midwifery. Lots of Uni's wont even ask you in for an interview if they don't think your PS is Midwifery focused.
I have everything crossed for you to get a place, I am applying again this September for a Sept 2012 start, hopfully I'll get a little further now I have my diploma behind me (fingers crossed). Good Luck Hun x

Thanks.
I got offered a place but after having two miscarriages and everything else that has gone on I decided to stick with the degree I am doing at the moment and just get it over and done with and then do a PhD in Fertility and Embryonic Science. Good luck !

That was great that you got offered a place, I understand totally why you didnt take it tho, do whats best for you and you now know that you'll get to where you wanna go when the time is right :)

Heya, I got in but decided to turn the place down. Thanks anyway !
