I just called again today, and they STILL do not have the results, it's been three weeks!!! they are now telling me it could take a few weeks to several months after the blood work to get the results....WHAT?!?! They keep changing their story!!!

Here are some of things I have noticed in James that are my concern (why i think his test will show DS)

His facial features (short neck, nasal bridge, eyes)

His Simian Crease

His big toe gap between the first and 2nd toes:

and pinkie curves inward: https://i641.photobucket.com/albums/uu134/carolynnnn_2009/100_0532.jpg

Now I dont want anything to be wrong with my son and I hope the test come back negative, these things are just kind of concerning to me until we know for sure, especially since they were pointed out to me... Please pray that we get his results in soon, this wait is getting too overwhelming :(

Are you convinced that's a Simian Crease, or does the photo not do it justice?

It just looks to me as though his Heart Line, although it starts on the same level as his Head Line, curves up towards his second finger at around the same point that his Head Line curves down. (i.e. the two don't join). My hands are like that - Heart & Head Lines start at opposite points on the hand but about the same level, the former then curves up as the other curves down. And I'm not DS ;)

Can't believe they are taking so long to process the test. Andrew had blood taken for testing when he was only 3 days old; first test was inconclusive (I think they lost it really!) but the second came back as clear. It only took two or three days to get the result.

I think it's horrible that the tests are taking so long. How can they say "maybe your son has DS" and then just let you wait and worry! This may be silly to say, but try not to worry. Just because he has some features doesn't mean that he does have DS. Yesterday I went for a tour of a school that helps children with autism and the woman who gave me the tour told me that because she worked in that environment she became convinced that her toddler was displaying signs of autism. He ended up being NT but I think sometimes even typical features or mannerisms in children can be interpreted as a concern, especially when you are looking for them. I hope you will get your results soon. I can't imagine how hard the waiting must be for you.

:hugs:

Gahh,I'm sorry it's taking so much time to get results back,I know the feeling,
And I hope you get some answers sooon,

My daughters always wiggling her toes, and at one point she spread her toes out,The paed's noticed this and said it was 'sandle toe' which can be linked to some things.
Don't worry about this though! My Oh has a wide gap in his big toe and second toe and so do a fe other people i know.

I hope you get the results sooon chick!
Take care xxx

I hope you get your results soon - waiting for results is just terrible! Your son is gorgeous! xx
