errm I think I may have given my baby an upset tummy.
I recently ate cabbage... not alot just a tablespoon, for the past 2 days afterwards shes been really fussy.
i did a similar thread he other day and every one said u dnt need to avoid anything but if you notice one particular thing that upsets your bubba cut it out i couldnt eat stawberries with my DD :-/
Oh I had Chinese food (cabbage and then some!) and her tummy was so not happy for days. Awful gas and fussiness. No more Chinese foods till she is more developed. :/
Yeah, I think the cabbage family gets unfairly blamed. In reality it is pretty unlikely to have been the problem. Especially since you only ate a tablespoon. I cooked a sort of cabbage pie recently, and since I don't have time to cook, I've had leftovers of it for my last three meals! My LO is actually doing better than usual, and having her first good nap in days
No because only proteins will pass into your milk, not gas causing compounds, which are the issue with some foods when eaten directly. Some fruits and veggies do contain proteins that can cause issues, strawberries and onions are two examples that can affect susceptible individuals- they tend to cause a true allergic reaction though such as rashes or hives and this is very rare via breastmilk. Chinese foods do contain monosodium glutamate though (every soy sauce does) and that may be the real culprit while breastmilk contains naturally occurring glutamates as they are amino acids, so not sure why and it's quite rare but MSG added to foods can be a problem for a few BF babies xx
