After some suggestions here for bottles for the bump.
We currently use Avent traditional-style (not the new natural ones) ones with our 7 month old, have done from birth - they work well enough (although the teat that claims to act like a mum's nipple continues to disturb me - if I had ones THAT long I'd be using them as coat hooks to hang my jacket).
While our small size ones are still in decent enough condition to be re-used with new teats bought - the larger 9oz ones will have had their day by then - the markings are pretty much shot to hell on them, and it's a regular task with a marker pen to redraw the lines for the amounts we're using on. Then again - rebuying teats for the 6 bottles we have is going to be pushing £15 per stage - and Avent are 4 different teat stages... so is it going to be worth buying all-new anyway - especially since you can get 2 teeny and 2 normal sized ones for £9 at the moment on Kiddicare, and two of the larger sized bottles on their own are £11 (plus they only have pink and blue in of the clear ones that don't need the colic ring... don't get me started on the topic of pink and blue being the ONLY colours baby stuff comes in...) basically looking at it- trying to be moneysaving by reusing the newborn sized ones isn't looking like being moneysaving at all really.
So I have the option to buy into a new bottle and teat system potentially - anyone any brainwaves for bottles that:
a) aren't going to end up with the markings rubbing/scratching/wearing off
b) if they come in colours and designs - isn't just bright pink princesses for girls and blue diggers and dinosaurs for boys (personal pet hate)
c) relatively dippy-grandmother proof in terms of putting bottles together (the colic rings in the Avent bottles continue to baffle my mother - as does the fact some of ours need them and some of ours don't)
d) I just have an irrational hatred of the tommy tipee ones (and that ridiculous company name) - but I can move past that if I have to.
Fitting into a steriliser isn't a massive problem since we cold-water sterilise anyway.
