Hi ladies,

Has anyone given birth at the Ulster Hospital in Northern Ireland? I have just moved to NI and I will be going to the GP tomorrow. In the event of being able to choose which hospital I will be going, my SIL has advised me to choose this one. Has anyone had a recent experience? What was it like?

xx

I had dd there, c section as she was breech. No complaints at all. Unfortunately you may not have a choice in hospitals as some here only have home from home wards (Lagan valley for instance) which won't take you if they suspect any complications or its your first. Depends where you live.

A girl I know had her son in Ulster and she said it was brilliant but you may not get a choice. Royal Jubilee at the Royal Victoria are also very good and if I were still in Belfast, this is where I would be having my baby.

Thanks ladies. I did have a choice actually and chose the Ulster. The midwife at my surgery said they have a Home from Home ward for low risk pregnancies such as mine so hopefully that's where I'll end up. I'm just waiting for the referral letter/phone call to come!

Thanks once again!
xx
