Hello ladies have anyone ever got an ultrasound done at 15+2 and was told the gender and at another scan found out the gender was the complete opposite. I am stuck on my uktrasound i had at 15+2 and the tech said looks like a boy but was sure if it was a swollen labia and i just wanna some insite. Have a girl gender been that swollen to look like a boy part?

ive heard of that happening plenty of times. Ultrasounds guess at that stage arent exactly accurate unless you have a CLEAR potty shot. I was told around 15 weeks boy as well, but she made sure to tell me dont go boy shopping yet. she said it could have been the umbilical cord as baby was not in a good position. I find out for sure on the 19th.

That labia would have to be pretty darn swollen to look like a penis. just sayin

She said with girls its harder to tell but normally you will see three lines and with boys you will see boy parts. so i am going to hold off on my buying until my next scan. i go again on july 5th where i will be 20+2 by then. i saw why she said it could be a boy but also not sure what a swollen labia looks like for a baby girl

Gretavon- thats what the tech said too thats why she said boy but when i did research on the swollen labia they say it dont normally happen until later in the pregnancy. I didnt think that a swollen labia would poke out that much either

I've been reading that too about the three lines. We're hoping for a girl this time around and I'm going to call on monday to try to schedule an U/S so maybe we will know for Father's day and hubby's birthday. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nervous. I'll be looking hardcore for those three lines. I may whip out a microscope.

You havent had a gender scan done yet? And yes fingers crossed that you get your girl!!!! Is this baby #1 or #2? This will be my first baby and hubby and i are hoping for a little boy but either way i will be happy just wasnt to sure about the whole swollen labia thing and even if its swollen i saw that it still had the three lines.... When are you due?

They swore to my mother up and down that my baby sis was a boy. They even showed her what they thought was a penis. Well at the birth we were all very pleasently surprised to see not a healthy baby boy, but a baby girl!!!! Turns up the umbilical cord was wrapped around her leg and her libia was swollen thus making the look of a penis and scrotom. From then on out I always make sure that what they are seeing isn't the umbilical cord that they are saying is my boys penis and its normally not.

Wow....i never knew that a labia can be that swollen and stick out that much and she did a double look to make sure it wasnt the cord in the way. That scares me that its told one gender and then hear another gender later on in the pregnancy. How early did you get your gender scan? I wish i had the porty shot so you can see it but i am hoping she was right

I just had a gender scan at 16 weeks and he was pretty obviously a boy...I am having another scan at 20 weeks to confirm it. With my boys I had early scans and with my oldest I was told girl at 15 weeks and then at 21 weeks I was told clear as day that he was all boy. How they could confuse that is beyound me. With my youngest I was told boy at 18 weeks and confermed boy at 25 weeks.

With my mom the cord never moved and so when she had another ultrasound she was again told boy. We really and i mean really thought that she was a boy lol. boy were we wrong, 9 years today she is one of the girlest girls I have ever met lol.

My cousin had an ultrasound done at around 15 weeks also and they told her girl. They even printed out the picture with the arrow pointing to parts and wrote 'GIRL'. A few weeks later she found out he was all boy. I think they just need a little more time to see clearly. I found out my son was a boy at 14 weeks but the tech said she couldn't say for sure but she thought she saw boy parts. Another scan at 16 weeks at a new office confirmed. All boy. A friend of mine came along and swore he didn't understand ultrasounds so the doctor showed him for a good 5 minutes he was all boy. So just in those 2 weeks they were able to confirm without a doubt. Hopefully it is a boy and she was just scared to say for sure.

This is number 2. I know my new dr is kind of a slacker. I would change but this is a really small town and if I wanted to go somewhere else it would be an hour and a half drive and I do not want to risk giving birth in the truck on the way to the hospital. My due date is Nov 1 but my son was two weeks early and I have a feeling this one will be as well.

Now i know it dont seem like a big difference but from 15 weeks to 16 weeks the gender of the baby looks different. do you have any pics of your ultrasound that you can post... I believe the techs would know what they are seeing but them to can make a mistake. I have another 3 weeks or so before i can confirm the sex but i am always looking at ultrasounds that was done also at 15+2. I wanted to ask would the labia be that swollen that it will stick out like a penis?

Xzaviormommy- i figure that it might be to early to see the sex but she took a guess and said it looks like a boy but she threw in that it could also be a swollen labia. i see that from 15 weeks to 16 weeks can make a difference in the potty shot. do you have any pics you can post?

This was his boy parts picture at 16 weeks. Idk how a swollen labia can be mistaken for THAT.

Gretavon- i am hearing a lot about dr's being slackers and yes that will be a big risk. sheesh a hour and a half drive thats far. I am in philadelphia and i love my doctor i have and also where i choose to have the baby at. they are great. Do you have names picked out?

If this is girl we will name her Bo and if it is another boy we have decided on Sonny. Have you any names yet?

Yes now thats no mistaken in that at all... he is all boy. now on my ultrasound i looked like that but it wasnt showing as much as in your ultrasound pic.. I cant wait until my next ultrasound so i can get my gender checked again. i dont believe a swollen labia can look anything like that.

Hubby and i wanna name the baby if it stays a boy alim and for a girl name her aniyah... i love that name for both genders you picked out. sonny is different and very cute
