Hi ladies
Thought i would said hi and tell u bit about myself..

I am beauty and me and my oh are ttc #1..

i stopped bc in september last yr and basically been having irregular periods since, first few months were cd35ish but then after about 4 months they have seemed to of varied from around cd45 to cd60 being the longest..

No idea if its my body is still out of whack from the bc but my doctor referred me to a gyno after me explaining my length of periods.

I was on bc for such a long time since i was around 15 and stopped when i was 26 which is 11 years so i understand giving my body some time to regulate but you would think wouldnt you after 9 months pill free my af would be more regular wouldnt you?? I can not complain cause i have had 7 periods in that 9 months but as you prob aware the length of them vary and this is hard to know when your more fertile!!

I have however been to see a gyno and booked in for an ultrasound a week friday.. I do not think I have pcos but assume the scan will confirm things for the doctors confirmation either way..

However my doctor mentioned clomid to me, my question is tho, i have a follow up appointment to see her a week after my scan. Just wondering if anyone was given clomid after a ultrasound scan or do you think she will carry out more tests etc before providing me with clomid??

Just unsure if she will send me for more tests ie the lap and dye before giving me clomid, only why do an ultrasound and not do a lap and dye etc??

Any advice would be really appreciated.

xxxxx

Hey, good luck with your scan.
I would of thought you would be given meds after your scan to get things on the way.
Are you going through the NHS?
xxx

Yep through NHS, the gyno mentioned clomid and that met to help regulate periods and ovulation but i just dont want to be referred again for another scan cause as you know the scan be another 6 weeks down the line so i really wanna push for clomid or some mediciation to help with my afs.

Whats happening now with your appointments? Have you been referred for scans etc??
xx

Usually they carry out routine CD2-5 and CD21 blood tests to see if you are in fact ovulating before prescribing Clomid.

Hi huni they have done all the blood tests and have done cd2 testing from my last cycle.. its hard to know if i am ovulating or not as my period every month is varied so finiding out if ovulating is going to be difficult as i have no idea when to expect my AF therefore no idea when to expect ovulation..

Hi Beauty! :hi:
Things may be a bit different here in the US, but I went through multiple tests before being prescribed Clomid (my cycles were around 40-70 days). I had to have an ultrasound, HSG test, bloodwork multiple times, and OH had to have a semen analysis.

OH had the sperm test done, bit lower than average but nothing to worry about, had so much blood taken i am surprised if got any left..lol

So the next step was cd2 blood work which had gone few weeks ago and then this scan!! I just unsure if she gonna move me onto another HSG scan or maybe give me a chance at clomid or metro to help with afs?

They say there is no point in Clomid unless they know your tubes are unblocked because even if you ovulate, your egg can't get to where it's going unless the tubes are clear. Prescribing Clomid to a person with blocked tubes would be counter-productive. Maybe push for that first.

My next appointment is in 3 months time.
Ive got to book my own scan when I start bleeding again.

I think i have got PCOS cause I keep getting sharp pains down low all the time :(

Huni try not to think anything until the scan is done and it confirms pcos or not.. otherwise your get yourself worked up..

How are your periods are they regular or irregular?? You on on metroformin so your periods might start becoming regular so you could have your scan booked in soon and metroformin is suppose to help with ovulation as well isnt it?? Regular periods makes it easier to get pregnant to time the sex..so with any luck you might not even need the scan, if you get a bfp!!

I had my HSG at the same time as my ultrasound, I agree that they probably won't give you clomid until they have checked your tubes and regulated your periods.

Good luck hun xx

Oh thats rubbish, why is every thing so long winded, so i got to go back a week after my results to see gyno to be told there prob gonna get me to do a lay and dye test..! Why didnt they book me in for both then??

Hi hun,
Well I was on BC for 10 years when I decided to come off it. I had 7 mnths of no periods and kept bugging the dr who just kept telling me it can take a year for your period to retun to normal. After they did start again, they were irregular from anywhere between 40-50 days apart. In the last 6 months they have now become a bit more normal.
I had no help or reassurance from my doctor (I was irregular before I went on BC) and just wanted to know there was nothing wrong.
At least you have got things moving now, wait until you have had your scan and then discuss your options with your doctor.
Fingers crossed for you, all is ok

wot r your periods like now? Are they regular? I have given it since sept should i just hang on for a scan for results or am i just rushing?

I feel a lot calmer now.
My periods are irregular they vary from 19 to 63 days, get on my nerves.
Hopefully the Metformin on its own will work.
Lately I've been getting loads of creamy/watery CM (sorry TMI) I don't know if i'm ovulating already, I thought a period would have to come first b4 ovulation?

Not sure huni with metformin might be worth asking in the section.. sorry..
I thought it might trigger ovulation, then AF kicks in after ovulation, but not 100% sure!!

Maybe see what this cycles turns in at and then i think you got a better chance of focusing on the next cycle!! Maybe using opks to help

Is there any side effects off the metformin??

Yeah there are side affects.
Headaches, feeling sick and sore boobs, that's what I've got any ways.
My friend have diarrhoea on them.

I hope they do its thing soon.

Hello I just wanted to say that I had been on bc for 13 years with no breaks and people constantly said to me that it can take up to 2 years for it to leave your system. My personal experience is that after 18 months my cycles have gone from 40-60 days to 28-34 days. So in the last 3 months my body seems to be back to normal. Not sure if that is the bc having finally left my system or the wellwoman tablets I have been taking . . . !
