Hey, Im curious as to how many of you guys have had ultrasounds before starting your TTC process, My first round of clomid was last month and No U/S to show my folicles, second round of clomid this month and doctor still didnt mention getting an ultrasound? Is this normal?

I say no- its a little inattentive..but you already know how I feel about it!

No, it's not normal. Especially if you're on CLO. You need to know if the follicles are growing, when they are likely to erupt and then to check if they're actually popping. How can you know that CLO is actually working, that you have the right dose and that you're doing 'it' at the right time?

I didn't have any monitoring ultrasounds during my rounds of Clomid, though I did get progesterone bloodwork done each month to see if I ovulated or not. It seems that if you go to a regular OB/GYN you don't tend to have monitoring on Clomid cycles (not true always, I'm sure), but with a specialist they monitor you more. I am starting Femara on my next cycle with my RE, and I will be monitored with ultrasounds to see if I'm responding.

i had ultrasounds done 6 months before my clomid because i had went about 8 months with 2 m/c's and unable get pregnant again. The doc wanted me to wait 6 months before doing any other tests. When i started clomid i was monitored on cd12-14 to check my follicles and if they seemed small i was asked to go back in 2 days later to make sure they were growing...(they were) I was also followed up with cd21 bloodtests. If you don't get ultrasounds and bloodwork, how can you be sure you ovulated? you should definitely have your doctor do more so your not wasting months on clomid on a dose that doesn't work for you.
