I went to the loo in the middle of the night and felt something drop out of me (sorry if TMI). There was blood loss and a disk of a jelly-like substance. Naturally I thought the worst and was told I needed to go for an emergency scan.
The scan showed baby to be fine, heart beating away and a little wriggle, measurements right on track and NO evidence of any bleeding from the uterus.
I went to my GP that night and he said that every pregnancy is different and hormonal changes might have caused the blood loss (but what on earth was the jelly disk?) He said it wasn't the plug as that is a different substance. I put my feet up for two days as I felt the soreness you'd feel after a period (which I guess it could have been a fake one).
I've had flutterings in my belly ever since so it's reassuring to know that baby is moving - about 4 weeks earlier than with my first baby.
GP is testing my urine and I should get the results tomorrow morning.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?
