I'm in the unique camp but i thought it would be interesting to see how the community divides.

Plus i just worked out how to do polls and this is a good excuse!

Depending on the name I would say but if forced to choose I would say Traditional.

Both! I think names can be traditional, and uncommon and different too. I'd prefer my child to have a name that had meaning behind it, rather than something I made up.

well I think Hannah is a pretty traditional name

i'm deffinately a traditional girl! somethin my MIL always goes on about, cos she's a fan of daft names i cant even spell!

I completely agree.

This is really interesting

I wanted to have a look at what the preportions were because i think its useful for everyone to be aware that other peoples opinions on names are based on personal preferences....

It seems like the more unusual choices get more negative or unsure comments which isnt a bad thing - its just if your a parent who likes an unusual name its useful to get some perspective on why people may dislike your suggestion of pluto compared to other peoples suggestion of paul :flower:

Exactly my thinking on names :winkwink:. xx

i voted undecided, as i think i'm both! like our 'Madeleine' is Maddilynne, which i think puts a unique twist on traditional, and i like both kinds of names! the names we have choose from baby number - one is traditional, for a little boy and i would say our girls names are more unique x

I'm kind of inbetween, the girls names I had picked were pretty unique. The boys names really common lol xx

I totally agree. I think many of the new 'unique' names end up becoming quite common and can end up sounding a bit dated in a few years time. I also find it a bit odd when people seem to use random words like Sparrow or Apple for names.

I like traditional but uncommon xx

I voted traditional but unique names can be lovely.

Unique but not too wild our out there names. You know the ones I am talking about :)

I like booth. Unique traitional names. ^^ and some which are in between ^^

I prefer anything that will fit any babies name. Or maybe a mom and dad (parent) name combination. :D
