Any advice?

My husband is waking up with him, and we're both working, and I know that he's (DH) exhausted.

I have him now though, and I gave him a bottle and am letting him play. Physically, I'm unable to rock him to sleep.

Someone recommended a book that I have to find, but I can't remember what it's called.
Thanks.

Have you tried white noise hun?

It could just be a phase, I know Aidan went through phases like this when he was a baby. I just rode them out but I wasn't 17 weeks pregnant. Hoe your LO starts sleeping better soon :hugs: x

Same problem here. Shes been STTN since 8 wks and lately night times have gone to pot, it was 12 and 4am last night. My LO is only 12 weeks though (could be a growth spurt).

Yesterday she only did short feeds so perhaps she wasnt tanked up enough in the day time or (and this might be the reason your LO is starting to wake) at certain points in their development they have a sleep regression (usually at 4 mths) because the brain is making lots of new connections so you find they wake up lots in the night just before they master a new skill. My LO has just learnt to roll over, we found that out when she fell of the bed yesterday much to my horror.

So perhaps your LO is about to do something new and his night wakings are because his little brain is very stimulated with the new skills he is trying to work out.

I am so sorry! :hugs: I wish I had advice. There is a number of us going through this and kosh made a thread for all sufferers. Why not join us? Thing is, there is a lot of support but we are all quite stumped as to what to do lol :hugs:

Thanks. Yes, we've tried white noise. He just screams and screams and screams until he's fed. He drinks about 37 ounces during the day plus baby food (12 ounces day). I don't know why he wants to have a bottle at night.

He won't take a pacifier.

DH thinks that lately I keep it too cool in the house, so I guess that we'll try to up the temp tomorrow night. He was sick, and since then, he just won't sleep.

Same,he STTN,got ill and stopped, started again, had his last lot of jabs then stopped again. He doesn't go to bed until 10 then between 1 and 7 he wakes at least 10 times x

May be a silly suggestion but are his ears hurting him when he lays flat? Idk why that thought popped into my head but maybe because he was sick? Not sure of what type of sickness he had though. I certainly hope you and your family get some rest, especially since you are 17 weeks pregnant. You're amazing!

My 5 month old has started doing the same thing gone from sleeping 11-12 hours to waking at 4.30 am for the day grrrr.

I was thinking the same as you DH that maybe she isn't warm enough so I am going to try her in a warmer tog sleeping bag tonight and keep all the windows shut.

Here is hoping it works for both of us.

Your 7month old might be teething. If the warming doesn't work try giving some panadol at bedtime. It worked a treat for my lo.

The 4.30am is classic wake up from being the coldest time in morning MrsBea23, so you should have some luck :) I also tried cooling my DD's bedroom when I put her to bed so she wasn't too hot in very warm pjs then turned it off/set timer to stop after an hour. I found she was hard to get to sleep if she was too hot too!!! So annoying these changing seasons. Should just be 24C all the time!

Dragonfly... thanks for reminding me about the amber teething necklace! I must find ours and see if it helps things :)

Eamon was still waking once at night at 10 months  I don't know how I did it, lol. I think they get unsettled when they have been sick :hugs: Hope you can find a solution soon.

Hmmmm...I'm not sure. I think I'll give the doctor a call. I wonder if that's what's going on. Thanks...I'm totally not amazing though. I'm disabled, and honestly my husband does so much. I feel terribly guilty about it. He changes/cleans house/cooks/does night feeds/takes care of lo and me, etc. I feed my lo, and hold him as much as I'm physically able. But thanks:flower:

AHHH! I totally forgot that the other day I told dh that we should do this, but I completely forgot about it. I'm going to do it today.

My lo has eight teeth, so I wonder if this could be bothering him.

Thank you so much to everyone for taking the time to respond...for all of the encouragement and advice. I really appreciate it.

OH my I could've written op's post. LO turned 6 mths recently and bam waking up every night sometimes twice. It's just like a newborn all over again. I'm exhausted:sleep:

My LO is the same. She was sleeping 8-10 hours through the night and as soon as she hit four months she started waking up once a night and now it's three times a night. I also don't know what to do! I hope it gets better for you soon hun, it can't be easy at all with you being pregnant too! :hugs:

Welcome to the sleepless club! My LO wakes several (3-8x a night) still and has done since 4 months- I'd love it if he only woke once or twice!

I still haven't figured it out. He just loves the boob so much he would rather just be in bed with me... Just started reading the no cry sleep solution though so maybe it'll help!

Good luck, and props to your hubby, he sounds awesome! :hugs:
