I am so tired

I have literally been up all night laying in bed reading books because of stupid painful braxton hicks keeping me up! They have been about 6 mins apart ALL NIGHT LONG, just completely relentless! :dohh:

They have never been so bad. I thought laying down was meant to make them stop! I had a bath and that did nothing, i've been drinking loads...i don't know what else to try!

Surely at some point they have to stop?
Is anyone else suffering like this? Hehe. If it was my first time i probably would have gone to the labour ward, but i know full well im not in labour! They are painful but not to an 'oh my god, i can't speak' point.

It's just so uncomfortable and i can't imagine having to put up with this for the next couple of weeks. I want sleep!!!!

Has anyone got any other advice i could try to make them calm down? I suffered badly from them first time round but this is just taking the piss now!

I think u need to be speaking to ur MW! If they are regular and in a pattern t could be the start!
A friend of mine had BH similar to you, went in and she was in labour!

Call someone.

If you have had them all night and taking a bath and walking around is not stoping them i would say you are going in to slow labour hun there not BH. I would ring L&D see what they say about it.

Some change in activity should stop or calm them if they were just BH from what I've been told. It really does sound like early labour stages. If it is I hope it doesn't drag out much longer for you :hugs:

I know I sound like a broken record but.... Magnesium!!!
It calms muscles.

I still get BH's, but if I forget my mag tablet I definitely get them waaaay worse!

could you be in the latent phase of labour..(:P sorry i just had my first ante natal last week on labour and pain relief.. i am now an expert you know! :P)

i had thought that with regularity they wouldnt be considered BH.. i always thought that BH were irregular and sporadic..

have you had any other labour signs?

I shouldn't think they will last for a couple of weeks....after all its only 4/5 days till ur due date! I think this may be the start of slow labour for you! After all, every labour starts differently! x

i've had the exact same thing although i was able to sleep through some of them..... but some are so intense they squeeze my bladder & force me to try pee. but i've had it on/off for about a wk now. every ten mins or so, lasting one minute but like you say i know it's not real labour yet. most annoying!

i can only hope though that it means our bodies are doing a little bit of the work already?!

x

I'm in a similar predicament and am getting angry because I'm so tired. :growlmad: It doesn't help that LO feels massive and my belly feels like it's going to explode because it won't grow anymore!

I might need to go out and pick up magnesium sometime tomorrow to see if that works.

Aw no :( I really hope this could be the start of something! Maybe you should go get checked to be on the safe side? :D Hope your feeling a bit better now x x

Exactly the same boat hun. Although I have thrown up and been to the toilet 3 times this morning now so I'm not sure if this could be the start! I do just keep tellingy myself they are braxtons tho!
Hope it turns to labour for you nice and soon cxx

I am feeling your pain! Literally! I have been having strong BH for 4 weeks now, had many hospital stays and monitoring sessions (due to other issues, small baby etc). However, since nearly two weeks ago I have been having strong painful contractions - registering over 150 on their machines! I went on last Friday - my MW sent me in for monitoring as I have lost my plug and having menstrul cramping, they hooked me up, they rushed me into delivery (which freaked me out) said i needed steroids and soemthing else to stop the contractions! Anyways, I saw my consultant and she said that she felt that we had at least a week more! So here i am two days short of a week, im contracting painfully at least once every half an hour, lasting upto two mins - because baby is back to back I am feeling them all in my back - hurt! :(

I know its not alot - every half hour - but im still getting the smaller ones in between and I have been like this for days - I am exhausted - I am up every 20 mins during the course of the night! I am at my wits end already! I have a MW app tmr and a consultant app on the 24th along with another growth scan!

I feel like im gonna lose my mind and then i will have a bout of bad ones - strong ones every few mins and I panic that i wont actully know that im in labour - I have to goto hosp straight away as i am having a section!

But..you are not alone - i have no advice which is totally unhelpful but you are not alone!

I know how you feel, i'm still getting mine. Its so frustrating isn't it? I've only got two more weeks and a day until my appointment to arrange induction so at least i've got some kind of time frame but its feeling like its going to be a long couple of weeks! XxX

Thanks for the advice everyone, i think im in denial that this could potentially be the very slow start of it because the only thing i remember last time round is how i just couldn't speak or move when i eventually went to the hospital when i was having a contraction, so i am sort of waiting for that to happen before i go again!

I am still having the BH's but nowhere near as painful as last night/this morning, so i think i am just doomed to another few days (or weeks!!!) of this! If it gets quite painful again later on im definitely going in to be monitored to see whats going on but i just hate phoning maternity daycare, i always feel like im wasting their time. I know im not in established labour....just some horrible inbetween phase that will probably go on forever!!

Sorry to hear so many others are going through this too, its so bloody annoying!! It doesn't help that i am terrified of the thought of going into labour either, im probably subconsciously stopping it from happening, hehe :dohh:
