Gooood morning everyone! Not sure if you remember me, but my little girl is almost seven months old! CRAZY! OH I've since come out as fully gay, not pansexual, so that's a story for another day but figured I'd let you know so you don't get confused! So, the last time I posted, I was going to court for custody and child support. He didn't show up the first or second court date, so when they asked to reschedule, I rescheduled to ALL DAY valentine's day. I wanted to see what his priorities were. His daughter or his girlfriend. Which, BY THE WAY, he's apparently engaged to now!? (sixth time he's been engaged, three kids he doesn't see!!) So - during this time I was sort of seeing this girl, Rose. I had forgotten my court date was that morning so she came with me since she was at my house. It was good to have the emotional support, and Lara crying for Rose when "f"ob picked her up. (Recap for why I'm so bitchy towards him, planned pregnancy, kicked me out other side of province, slept with my best friend and disappeared for a year) Anywho, so he comes in all bitchin' and moanin' that he's going to fight me, etc. and how unfair I'm being. Here's me being totally confused. He says I threatened to only give him supervised. My ACTUAL message stated that if he was visiting for 3-4 days at a time, he could take her for the day for the last day after staying in and learning her schedule. (He lives like 7 hours away so he's only coming up every three months.) also telling people he wants unsupervised in his town! NUUUUHHUUUH. So after this long drawn out bitch-fest, you know what he does when my lawyer pulls out the paper work? signs it with no complaints. It was ridiculous! He agreed to everything I said, didn't try to fight me in court. He was trying to psych me out to give him more because he knew it was totally reasonable and he'd lose in court. So, he decided he'll only be here two days every three months. I said Day one supervised, day two unsupervised in MY home so that she's not anxious, I'll go out for the day. I have full custody, and full decision making on schools/etc. I also have residency. He gets eight days a year, four supervised four unsupervised. So, it's settled. He royally ticked off my worker being condescending and making excuses the whole time, but it ended exactly how I expected it. He decided how many visits, I decided what would be fair to Lara under those terms.
if you guys remember, I moved to the other side of the province and enrolled in university. I met a wonderful group of women that are really just.. they're amazing. I don't even know how to explain it. Going back to Rose's story.. when we called it off, she says Okay, but whether you're mad at me or not I still want to visit Lara once a week. And she still calls, and skypes with her. It nearly breaks my heart to see how these women treat her, how excited they are to see her, asking about her, making sure she's okay all the time. This woman, who has no obligations to her, has been checking on her all the time since she was a week old. We are still good friends. I also had one of them move in, and every day she skypes with her ex gf's daughter for an hour. It makes me so proud to call these people my friends. When you decide to become a parent, even a step parent, you will forever be the parent. They get it. I don't even know how to explain how it makes me feel, part sad, angry, happy, I don't know. To see these people who stick by my daughter through thick and thin, who have my back. When FOB came over, you know what they did? They took shifts staying with me so I wouldn't have to be alone, and all stayed the night. There was always at least two people here. Some of them are moms, college students, a mix of everything. It is heartwarming to find such good, honest people. Which brings me to my schooling!!! I have exams in two weeks, my grade before my exams? Is a 97% average!!!! I am a high school drop out. I was homeless for five years. Now I have a 97 in UNIVERSITY?! I'm so happy with everything. Sometimes, it hurts, looking at her and thinking that these women have taken on his role because he's gone. But they are beautiful people. :cloud9:

Sounds like you and Lara have been through a lot. Her dad sounds like a piece of work, I hope you're able to surround her with lots of people who will never let her down. Congrats on university by the way, which school are you going to? Im from Ontario as well. Hope you and Lara are having a nice Easter. :)
