So me and DH went to RE today and discussed our very first iui procedure and next steps. I will be taking clomid again (this time 100mg) does anyone know if this will increase my chances or what the difference is between that and the 50mg? I'm unsure as to why she upd my dosage bc I ovulated on my own anyways and with the 50mg. Anyways we have decided to go with iui next cycle. I wish this cycle would hurry up and end and the next one start. I'm ready to get on with this;) just wanted to share with everyone our journey and the next steps. I really do hope this is it for us!!

I went from 50mg to 100mg and I still only ovulated with one egg. I actually had better response on 50mg I o'd with two my first round. I do o on my own as well though. For people like us that o on their own, Clomid is really used for 'super ovulation' meaning its going to produce a stronger egg and in some cases more than one egg at a time.

Oh ok. Thanks for the info. She also wants me to do an AMH test. She said my last egg counts were not what they should be. So she said that if they aren't normal this time she will have to be aggressive and hopefully get me preggo soon. I'm going to stay positive throughout this and pray that I will soon become a mommy!! Can't wait!!

I'm in the same boat, upping from 50 to 100 next month to hopefully get "stronger ovulation," even though I ovulate on my own. In my case, the doctor decided based on my unimpressive progesterone levels a week after ovulation.

I've certainly read a mixture of opinions on the merits of Clomid for those of us who already ovulate, but it seems like it does help some women, so it's worth a try before we go to injectibles.

Side note: I'd done two cycles of Clomid with my regular Ob/Gyn and didn't feel too many side effects except worse PMS. This time around, doing it again with the goal of IUI, I've been an emotional wreck! I know some of that is surely just anxiety related to the situation, but I really do think the Clomid is messing with my mental state. There was a 2-day span when I couldn't stop crying. I even woke up in the middle of the night crying from anxiety. I had no perspective at the time of course, and I kept apologizing to my husband for being a crazy person, but he assured me that this behavior was nothing he'd ever seen from me and he is positive that it's the Clomid. I hope he's right, but it also makes me nervous about upping the dose. I'm steeling myself to hold it together next month. :)
