Upset by smear test reminder

Just got my smear test reminder through the post. My last smear test was just before we starting trying and I remember being so excited by it. Now, three years and two miscarriages later, all it takes is a stupid piece of paper to reduce me to tears.

I think mine was due last month...I decided to ignore it. After all, isn't my cervix looked at enough already?? Hang in there!!

Mine arrived just as I was starting my down regging drugs and it really brought it home to me that we've been trying for 3 years as my last test coincided with that. I understand how you feel.

Same situation with me I've got my reminde through, a nurse said that she didn't want to do a smear if I could be pregnant but then the Dr said it doesn't matter and wouldn't affect it. Not sure who is right. They also have to do some clamidia test which I am so upset about. I;ve only had one boyfriend and that's my husband. They say I have to have it in order to be referred to the fertility clinic

Thanks for the responses. I'm feeling much better about it today - maybe we should treat it as a new start.

Don't worry about the test Annie, it is just standard procedure. If you get to I ivf they test for HIV as well.
