Upset - long story

Long story that I will try to keep short as possible! I had pre-e with my first so am being kept a close eye on during this pregnancy. Now my OB/Gyn has said that I can try for VBAC but they won't let me have any complications.
I've just been talking to my friend who had a natural birth here (Saudi) with same Dr and she's told me that they wouldn't let her give birth in any other position except on her back. They wanted to monitor her all through labour but she put her foot down and managed to postpone it until last stages and moved around a lot during labour.
Now I just told my hubby this and he said that he was in total agreement with my Dr and that I should do as they say
I'm probably being emotional but I'm really upset that he's not going to support me. He said I should speak to my Dr about what I want and she what she says.

Laboring and delivering in the lithotomy position is not a good way to avoid complications... Is there a change for you to find a new OB? If the VBAC means that much to you (which it does to a lot of women) than I think you should try to find a doc who really (honestly) supports your opinions and ability to birth your baby! Whichever you decide, good luck! And for the record, I'd be a little miffed at OH. But that's just me.

You need to find a doctor or a midwife that supports you. Ask for intermittent monitoring. I think they call it a tens machine. Really they can't force you into anything and believe it or not we tend to know when something is not right. Know what to expect during labour, I believe signs of rupture mean constant pain even when not contracting, but definitely read up on it. Even print it out and hand it to your doctor. Also keep your labour natural. My midwife can't stress this enough. Pain relief slows, sometimes even stops your labour, while induction brings on contractions way to strong for your uterus to handle and raises chances of rupture.

My doctor has just ordered a growth scan and i'm at 37 weeks. I need to put my foot down and say no to induction if it is suggested, due to big baby. I'm hoping for a vbac+2 in the next few weeks. We can do it if we trust our bodies and stay calm throughout labour! Good luck!
