US mothers & baby clothing brands

Jumping Bean, Baby Gap, and H&M are my favorites. Walmart has some great summer pajamas. They're cheap and fit really well.

We really like Children's Place. My son is long and lean, but there is plenty of room in the shirts (doesn't look too wide). Also the pants are adjustable so there is lots of growing room or for toddlers/babies that are a little wider in the belly.

I love the baby clothes from old navy, they fit Rylee the best.

Can't stand Carters either. It's a shame as I find their clothing is adorable but it's def. long & lean, not suitable for my boys who are short and stocky.

I find the best clothing tbh to just be the Wal Mart brands... Wal Mart, always for the portly ;)

You can tell in a thread like this the differences in how clothing works for different shaped/sized babies. I have always thought Granimals, from Walmart were so cute, but they never seemed to fit Carter right being so long and lean. Also, Okey Dokey brand tend to be pretty wide. I am not sure where all they are sold, but I have found them in JcPenney.

I wish they could just name them long & skinny, short & stubby, or long & stubby, or short & skinny!!!

Anyone know if Target is good for short & stubby? It's opening here soon (all over the news in Canada, we're getting 100 stores, gosh we're such a boring country)

Targets brand Circo I think is great for short and stubby! They have never fit Rylee bc she is super long. They aren't very stretchy tho.

This could work...thanks!

It's not like my LO is a chunkster, but he's not as lean as he used to be...
Last time i checked, he was 31" & 23 lbs...

Are the fabrics soft & 100% cotton?

Do they shrink as much as Carter's?

I like Oshkosh for overalls and American Apparel for basics, too.

Hanna Anderson is pricey, but is seriously wears like iron and is worth it if you are planning to hand stuff down to younger siblings.

I really like the choices AA has for basics & I love all the color options. I'm really not into logos & graphic clothing...

The website says they make shrink 1 size on average...do you find this to be true?

Are their cottons soft like Carter's?

A lot of LO's clothing is carters. I can get them for a good price. Just an FYI though, Carters and OshKosh go hand in hand. They are owned by the same place. I figured this out when I went to their website to order some summer clothes for LO and you could order OshKosh in the same cart. I do like both brands.

I noticed once my daughter hit 12 months, I liked the Osh Kosh look better (ive noticed a lot of the clothes she outgrew up to 4T were Osh Kosh. She didnt wear much carters after that point. However, most of LO's clothes are Osh Kosh.

Gymboree has a lot of cuter older kids' clothes (after 12 month) but they can be pricey, but hold up amazingly and dont shrink much at all. Old navy sometimes has some cute stuff as well. I notice I buy a lot of my daughters stuff there, and I buy all of my older boys jeans there (well most of them anyways). They also hold up very well.

I've thought that AA stuff really runs small. It may be that it shrinks, I prewash everything so I'm not sure I'd notice. My son wears 2Yr in their shirts but is in 18-24M in most other brands. He had a pair of the karate pants when he was just a little guy that he wore forever, but they were definitely Capri length before he stopped wearing them :haha:

I really like the feel of their fabrics. I can't compare it to Carter's because all he has in that brand are fleece jammies.

I, too, am not fond of graphics unless they are exceptionally cute :) and I don't like stuff with words on it at all. Just not to my taste. I stick to solids and stripes. Though, I do have an irrational love of plaid pants which I'd better get out of my system before he's old enough to have a say in what he wears!

Old Navy all the way for me, unless Gymboree is having a great outfit that I can not resist,

They are mostly 100% cotton. I haven't noticed a ton of shrinking. He has an 18-24 month tshirt he can still wear at almost 3. I like them because they have good casual clothes, good semi-casual and good dressy clothes. They have winter wear, accessories and shoes too.

I must say thank you to the person who mentioned Naartjie kids clothing in this thread. Got my first package from them today.... unhealthy obsession starting in 3,2,1...
