Hi folks,
I just wondered if any of you had opinions on using a very old fashioned name. I know a lot have come back in vogue now but there's a name that recently occurred to us that we both really like but according to all the stats its popularity just gets less and less every year. The name is Albert. It's currently our favourite name for a boy and we'd probably call him Bertie day-to-day but we both really like Albert as the full name too.
Do you think he'd be likely to be teased at school for having a 'grandad' type name or am I over-thinking things?
It's not normally the kind of name we'd go for, we tend to the more natural/hippy end of the spectrum. Our daughter is called Ember and our current other favourites are things like Oaken or Calder for a boy and Alvara or Elfreda for a girl. I think I might just be getting over my surprise at myself for feeling so drawn to such a traditional name.
Anyone else gone through similar feelings?
Gina.
