Dont know if anyone can help, I'm just over 8 weeks with my 4th baby (which most of you know) so I know things pop out quicker, but I can already feel my uterus about 1 inch above my pubic bone,(im convinced thats what it is hard and roundish and quite a distinct difference from my fatty belly further up) I am worried that this is way to soon, I am sure this did did not happen in my last pregnancy, has anyone else had this happen to them so early. Im at the midwife tomorrow so will obviously get her to check but was wondering what it could be??

thanks for any advice

I'm pretty sure I could feel that about the same time, I only saw a student midwife that appointment who had a feel and said all she could feel was my c-section scar. She didn't have an answer for why she could feel it when it was well buried before! I still think that's what i could feel...just like what i feel now only smaller! x

It does sound like it could be your uterus hon! I think I could feel mine in that area at 8 weeks too and this is baby #4 for me too.

I think it's just so different for everyone. This is my first and I swear the last 7 weeks somedays I can feel it, somedays I can't. Somedays Im bloated, other days Im not. Somedays I have a bump, then miraculously I pee or have a bowel movement and its gone. So many factors. A few weeks ago my doc said my uterus was enlarged because of my fibroids, but today it's not half as enlarged, so Im confused as well.

This is my second, and I swear I haven't been able to wear regular pants since 6 weeks!! (I'm 8 weeks too). Now it's starting to actually show, whereas before, it was just really tender and I couldn't stand to have regular pants on my belly. I'm super conscious about my diet and my weight too, so I know it's all uterus and not fat. It's a terrible dilemma--too small for maternity pants, too big for regulars! :)

I think it can be your uterus, as this is your 4th. Have you had a scan yet? Could there be more than one in there? ;)

not got a scan till 31st i asked midwife yesterday and she said maybe its a growth spurt and laughed lol. She was really nice but did not really know why she could feel it so early so will have to wait for scan. Its prob coz it is my fourth

OOooohhh, yeah! Someone on here has to be having twins! :winkwink: I'd LOVE to see the look on my hubby's face if I told him I was having twins LMAO. Hm, maybe Ill do it just for poops and giggles!

All jokes aside, I do think it's ur uterus u feel, on my 5th I went to see a surgen I was supposed to get my gall bladder removed. He didnt believe I was only 7 weeks at the time, he said either Im going on 4 months or its twins. Nope, it was only one! My uterus grew at warp speed! But, I stayed that size basically untill the baby caught up, and started stretching it out more.He felt my uterus above my belly button

my oh is sure its twins as he always said he was not having kids so he thinks he will get two at once lol. Only just over 3 weeks till we find out. Cant wait

Do you have a feeling it might be twins? Are you feeling more sick then u did with the other ones?

I was never sick with my other 3, felt it a bit with my daughter 15 years ago, but this time I have felt sick everyday from morning till night to the point I can cry, and I am so tired and emotional as well, its either twins or I am blaming Mark as my other 3 are from my ex, it has crossed my mind it could be twins I would not be surprised but I dont think it really will be.

Even if you haven't seen your OB/MW, can't he or she prescribe something for nausea? You don't need to suffer. :(

they dont seem to prescribe things over here, I mentioned it to her said i was sick morning noon and night not being sick just feeling it which is worse sometimes as it just constant its making me drained and miserable and she just said oh its a bugger isnt it lets hope its not twins and laughed and said it should pass in a few weeks :(

its cos we're meant to be harder over here! Well we're daft enough to put up with stuff no one else would! x

I am having twins and what you describe about the hardness does ring a bell with me. I thought I was imagining things but from about 7 weeks on when I bent over when sitting in a chair (i.e. when tying shoelaces) I felt that there was something there! I thought maybe I am imagining things and it is just related to that whole achy muscle fatigue feeling, that softening of tissues that causes you pain when sneezing and all that odd stuff. I have not asked my MW if this was cause of twins BUT when I went in for my 12 week scan on Wednesday the tech had to move the thingy over my lower abdomen up to my belly button! Now from what I have read, a singleton should at this stage barely be poking out above your pelvic bone. So while I don't want to give you false hopes/freak you out, I just thought I'd share my own impressions :) Hope all will go well at your scan and I look forward to hearing the results :) xxx

suzi you are defo right there. The difference i have seen between american versus uk care is vast. And think it is as we dont moan enough. Like today i am off to work and feel dreadful but will still go instead of saying no i cant do this. And angel thats interesting. I think there will be only one i am thinking its coz its my fourth things are looser lol and i feel so ill as i am older and its with a different partner. 3 weeks till i find out lol

I have a fibroid in the lower portion of my uterus that became noticeable during my first trimester - for a while we thought it was my uterus until the 11 week ultrasound confirmed.
