So i ended back at the labour ward again today.
You might not remember but about a month ago i went there because of pains only to be sent home and told to take some paracetamols, they couldnt tell me what was wrong.
So today I started having the same pains I was having before so rang up the mat unit and she told me to come in.
They were so much better this time, monitored the babys heartbeat for twenty minutes to check that was ok and I gave my urine sample and yep iv got an infection.
This is obviously why I was having pains before as they are exactly the same. So now Iv been given antibiotics to take.
Its still quite painful but Im just happy I now know whats wrong and that they baby is doing fine

UTI's are terrible. I had them loads whilst pregnant, I really feel for you. You'll be ok though. Glad you've found out the problem. x

Im glad theyve discovered this before it got worse! i had one undetected for a few weeks and in the early hours of labour it inflamed into my kidneys, still unknown, it caused a horrendous labour, slow progressing, painfull and ended in c-section, aswell as the next 8 weeks on about 12 tablets a day, bloods, bruises, painkillers, the lot. so PLEASE, drink lots of water and get rid of it, flush it out! I wasnt allowed an epidural because of it, so ur better to find out now and deal with it than not. the first time you went in sounds like u got some lazy midwives! glad theyve got it now!

Oh yuk I feel for you, I had a really bad spell of UTIs last year for no real reason, and am terrified I'll get them now! Glad you've got it sorted now hun!
