Valium for IUI?

I get very, very anxious before any type of medical procedure. My HSG was the most painful experience of my life and I think it can be partially contributed to my anxiety level. My FS perscribed valium for me to take prior to the IUI. Anyone else take anything to try to relax before the procedure?

I didn't either time... and I'm pretty sensitive to that type of stuff. Even my annual is uncomfortable for me... BUT... the procedure is so quick hun! It will only last maybe 2 minutes... I found it easier than the HSG dye test as well, although that was only uncomfortable for me (with some bits of painful).

But if your gonna get worked up before, then prob best to just take the Valium hun. It will help relax you and keep you in a good state of mind.

The IUI is NOTHING at all like the HSG!! And an IUI is over with in 2 minutes! Very easy procedure and very much like a pap smear.

I agree with Chris77, IUI was nothing like HSG!! I was a mess after the HSG procedure. I've done 3 IUIs now, and each of them have been very simple and quick. No pain during or after. Some women report spotting afterwards, but I didn't.
