Has anyone had/has them?

I had an appt with my OB yesterday and he told me they are quite common in women who are in their second (or more) pregnancy.

I feel like I have pressure down there (not pain, just uncomfortable really) when I stand or sit in the same position for to long, no signs of any veins yet, but I am worried it might be a sign of varicose veins!

Do they go away after birth or are they forever and require surgery?

TIA xx

Didn't want to read and run. As far as Im aware varicose veins can be treated with compression stockings and can be operated on to remove the vein. Aside from that I don't think they go away.

I had them with my first (I don't think being overweight helped), and they reduced in appearance but didn't go away completely. Already back again! They're not in a highly visible area, so I'm not too worried about them (hubby has never noticed them, lol). And I don't feel pressure with them. I think crossing your legs and sitting for long periods of time can make them worse.

I've noticed all my veins this time have exploded in size, especially my boobs and stomach area. I feel like a roadmap!

Thanks girls!

Kitteh_Kat, hopefully they don't get too bad for you! It's a pretty common thing I think! An atleast they're not very visible.. Ah the joys of pregnancy!!
