Hi ladies,
Has anyone else attempted a VBAC with a back to back baby? If so I would love to hear your outcomes, positive or otherwise.
I had been hoping for a VBAC with my son after a c section with my daughter that I needed due to her positioning.
She was oblique, but no one realised this until I had been through a 36 hour labour and was 9 cm dilated. It wasn't a great experience but I've been assured that because my section was ultimately due to my daughters oblique position I have a good chance at a VBAC.
The thing is now I've been told my little man is back to back. I know that back labour is generally painful, slow and more likely to result in an assisted delivery and after my previous experience of labour I'm getting anxious about it.
I don't know anyone that has attempted a back to back VBAC but the two people I know who delivered back to back babies one ended up with an instrumental delivery and a fractured coccyx and the other needed an unplanned section due to failure to progress.
Now I'm only 36 weeks so my LO still has a chance to turn but I can't do anything to encourage him to do so as I'm injured from an accident I had a few weeks ago. I am recovering but my feet and ankles are not recovered enough to support me using my birthing ball, I am unable to flex my ankle into a hands and knees position, I can't walk very far and I need to sit with my feet elevated above my hips which encourages my back to slouch
I have my consultants appointment tomorrow and I'm wondering whether its worth me still trying for a VBAC unless my little man turns around of his own accord.
If anyone has any experiences to share I hope if will help me make a decision.
Thanks x
