I REALLY want to try for a VBAC with this pregnancy. I just have this overwhelming fear that the minute I try to bring it up to any doctor they will immediately tell me its out ofthe question.

My first daughter was a vaginal birth (preterm contractions and needed an episiotomy but nothing out of the norm.)

My second daughter was an elective section as I was scared of anything happening (my first daughter passed away at 4 months old from LOTS of health issues). Turns out I worried for nothing as she's a VERY healthy and happy 5 year old now.

My last pregnancy I tried for a VBAC but labor stalled at 5 cm dilated and 75% effaced with pitocin. (I really think I could have made it if they would have just let me get up and walk around..but NOOOOO they wouldn't listen to me and it was a HORRIBLE experience) Anywho..ended up in a section 12 hours after my water broke.

Should I even bother bringing it up to my doctor?? I'd have to switch docs as the hospital my doctor works at is a rural hospital and they don't allow VBACs there so I'd have to jump on it and get a new doctor and see them asap!

Like I said I REALLY want this badly. I've been exercising and working on my birthing ball and my hips are definately favorable to vaginal birth....WHAT TO DO?!?!?

I now things like this are treated differently in the UK, where there would be a greater preference for you to actually have a VBAC, but I say go in and present your arguments and go for it, don't back down! You go get your VBAC!x

There is no reason why you cannot attempt a VBAC and have a god successful one hun.

VBAMC are only at a tiny increased risk to VBA1C.

The problem lies in your insurance/state/OB etc.

You will need to find a supportive healthcare provider, this may mean switching hospital, going with a MW or even a homebirth to get it.

NO 2 labours are the same, know what you want and be forceful about getting it!

I say fight for it love! Chuck is super knowledgeable about VBACs!

See if you have a ICAN chapter near you, and that will be a great resource for support and care providers.

I would fight for it too. There are many hospitals that will do it but you are right you should get on it now and find a supportive doctor! Good luck!
