I had my lap/dye/hysteroscopy on Friday and DH went back to work this morning.... I'm so emotional I almost cried last night and asked him to stay home one more day with me. I just feel really emotional and anxious...is this normal or something anyone else experienced?

Hi

Sorry to hear you feeling emotional, but i can tell you from experience i too felt really emotional after my lap and hysteroscopy. Just try and take each day as it comes and soon you will be back to your normsl self.

You have alot of positive things to look forward to. Youve just had surgery increasing your chances of becoming a mummy. Dont lose sight of that. Lots of baby dust to you xx

Thank you! and your right I just didnt expect to feel so "needy" but its a bit better today! I think the reality of getting a BFP is a little scary to me now too alomost like this can really happen now and life as we know it will change! but I'm ready for it bring it on!

I do not think you are needy at all. I did not feel emotional after my lap but I was in pain (apparently I got an infection but did not know about it for a week before I finally went to GP) and felt really weak and tired, my DH took two days off to be with me and my mum stayed the whole week with us looking after me, I would find it harder to recover without their support.

I think it was DH going back to work and me being alone at home that was bugging me. I'm estranged from my mother so I didnt have her and my mother in law lives in NJ and we are in Toronto so I have close friends but they all have lives and children and other things to take care of, I think I've made it through pretty well I'm back to work today, I think I just missed my routine and being alone sucked!

I'm sorry to hear about catching an infection Briss that must have just been the ultimate sucky thing to happen right after a lap!

I actually got this infection during the lap, it was UTI (apparently it's very common) so if you have any pain peeing after the operation for longer than a day or two go to your GP to check. I had to take antibiotics.

I just had pain peeing the day of my surgery it felt like razor blades and hasn't happened again since, however for about 2 days after the op I couldn't feel my bladder, like the urge to pee, its comes back but it seems to come and go....not sure if maybe they knocked the bladder around a bit or something but its a pretty weird feeling.
