Hey ladies! I wanted to share my situation and see if anyone could shed some light for me... When I was TTC my first, I got off bc (after years of being on it) and my cycles never became normal. Each would last about 14 or 15 days. After trying to find the right doctor (months went by) I finally got to an ob gyn and was given Clomid, third month on it I got pregnant. After I got my period again postpartum, and after it regulated, it's returned again to that 14 or 15 days long, so it's been "regular" at 14 or 15 days for about seven months now. I got a Clearblue Easy Fertility monitor, and I pretty much always get lows, my estrogen line is always DARK which I've ready means it means my estrogen is always low. I take OPKs and I do get surges, it's generally a day or two before my period starts, and my temps don't indicate ovulation. Now, I got a referral to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist (don't want to just get stuck on Clomid, I want to know what's WRONG!) but it is over a month away. Does anyone have any idea of what could be causing these issues? I posted this awhile ago on the TTC board and they suggested posting it here. ANY insight would be much appreciated!

Bumping! Really hope someone has some insight!

I've never heard of anyone having such short cycles. PCOS can lead to long cycles but not short. How many days of a period? How many days is you luteal phase? If its the luteal phase which is so short then your body is breaking down the lining of your uterus too soon, possibly lack of progesterone. But lack of progesterone can be a result of you having very weak ovulation.

But I'm not an expert. Your best to wait and see what they say.

Have you done any research into soy isoflavones?

I'm pretty sure my cycles are anovulatory, so there is NO luteal phase. Been temping for three cycles, and never see ovulation, using OPKs and only get surges right before AF starts, and CBEFM is always low. If I ovulate then I imagine it IS very week, because I don't see any proof of it AT ALL. Bleeding lasts usually between three and five days. CBEFM tests sticks always have dark estrogen line, which means low estrogen, and it doesn't really ever change. I know the line should get lighter as you approach O, but mine doesn't.... And I know most, if none, on here are experts, but I was hoping for a little bit of an idea of what could be wrong. Thanks for your answers, and if anyone else wants to pipe in, please do!

Actually I've done a lot of research on it, and tried it one cycle. It was the only cycle my fertility monitor gave me a high reading. I only did 100 Mgs of Soy that cycle, and my cycle was a whopping 13 days that cycle. I'm on CD8 right now, so I think I'm going to give it another try next cycle and see what happens. But my appointment with RE is November 17, so really only have one more cycle to experiment.

I'll give you a little background. I have had too high estrogen and too low progesterone. We are on the Napro Technology program. We started ttc sep/oct 2010 and not one single bfp. All tests so far have shown nothing. The meds I'm on now are showing good ovulation (this is our first month ttc whilst on them).

We had to wait about 6 weeks for our Napro appointment and as I was a hysterical mess every negative month we decided not to ttc the month before our appointment. And I have to say it was so relaxing and stress free. I know its hard not to ttc. But if you feel like a month of no worry, then I would consider it. Good luck.

I'm not really stressing out about ttc right now, as firstly I don't think it's possible for me to get pregnant right now, and secondly, my husband isn't in town to ttc anyway! I'm more concerned about what could be causing the problems I'm having and correcting it so that we can start ttc. If anyone else on here has any ideas please comment!

I know this is an old post, but I have this same problem! My cycles aren't quite as short as yours (18-22 days) but I do get a temp surge right before I get my period/spotting and its a very light period that lasts about 5-6 days.

Did you find out anything that could help? I'm leaning towards filling that clomid prescription my gynecologist gave me, but I also want to know whats wrong!
