Well im Brestfeeding and my boobs are SOOOO Sore and they feel soooooo unbelivable heavy .... Please tell me im not the only one ???

Thanks

How long have you been BFing for? When I started out I was incredibly sore, and this is the case for many women. My nipples cracked, bled, scabbed, it was horrible but it didn't last long. For me, Lansinoh was the magic answer (lanolin). I applied it every time I finished feeding Darwin and it REALLY helped with the soreness. Before I knew it the skin had healed & become used to BFing and it didn't hurt any more :)

The heaviness is, at least for me, something that doesn't go away. My husband was astonished at how heavy my boobs are, even when they're 'empty'. I guess if you consider that they're essentially full of water, it's understandable that they weigh more than when they were mostly just fat.

I was very sore for about the first 2mo..then after that it was completely better. It wasn't horrible the entire 2mo but it was something that came and went it seemed. I was cracked, it got to the point of me crying when I knew it was almost time for him to eat again. BUT it does get better, it's so worth it once you get past that. But it is normal. I agree Lansinoh is great, though it didn't make it completely stop it did help.

As for feeling heavy I only did until my supply regulated fully...I guess it lasted maybe a couple months and then after that I no longer got engorged or anything and only ever felt really full in the mornings and even awhile after that I didn't even feel that. Only let down when he ate, but never felt really full...so for me it went away.

I am generally onlu sore and heavy just b4 a feed ...tho tday she slept 7 hrs and omg they look double there size and kill x

At the moment its killig me as she has managed to pull some of the buds on my nipple from the flesh below and it hurts so bad it makes me almost pee myself :(.

I was in pain for the first couple of weeks. found lansinoh worked a treat. If i got really bad i would keep savoy cabbage leaves in the fridge. I'm not nuts its an old thing. but if you put a leaf over your boob and hold them on with a bra they are so cooling!

I reaaly am not crazy! lol

V x

Just sounds like engorgement to me then hun. Totally normal. Just keep feeding and they will start to adjust :)

You can put some warm face clothes on them or a warm shower to take the edge off too if they are really bad :)

the first week was awful for me.. i cried at every feed as my nipples hurt a lot and they were really hard and huge and just hurt without even touching them, you could see the veins popping but it got easier. my LO is 9 days old now and it is getting easier everyday. Try massaging them, it might help.. best of luck, please PM me if you feel like talking, im a brand new mommy like yourself as well and feel really down sometimes..
