Vests in hot weather?

Ive been wondering the same thing for the last couple of days, especially as Lani is only 7 weeks old... but I took her in her pram to the MILs earlier with a vest under a romper suit and she got so hot when we were there I ended up bringing her back in just a vest!

Have my 8 week health visitor appointment next week so am going to quiz them about the vest or not!

we put ours still in a vest and gro, but no blankets when out. I'm still wearing a vest under my t-shirt but then I wore a vest all the time when working abroad and it was 50C so I'm happy wearing a vest all year round.
I just dress them in what they semm happpy in and what feels a good temp for their body. Out of preference though I'd leave a vest on with trousers (and have cardi handy if it cools off) than no vest as I think they're good at holding the nappies on

No vest for my boy today, for the first time since he's been born. He's had on a short sleeve romper and nappy, and for a while just his nappy as it's roasting in my house
xx

No vest for Adam while it's hot!!! Just shorts & t-shirt or romper suit!!!!

While we were out today, Hannah just had a romper on and no vest. She was far too warm with both on. In the house she was just wearing her nappy. x

Okay. A vest is a onesie right? I have emma in a dress and diaper cover alot of the time but nothing underneath. And we always have a blanket or two with us in case there is a chill.

I always have Emily in a vest, mostly because I don't like the thought of the elastic round her trousers/shorts or the buttons on her dresses/tops being able to rub against her bare skin.
If it was that hot here (and I won't hold my breath! lol) I'd probably just keep her in her vest and a pair of cotton shorts.

LOL Yes a onesie - its weird isnt it? Cot/crib.... vest/onesie... seems like most everything has a different term!

Yes! It's hard remembering it all too. Prams, nappies, dummies, oh my!

Earl was just in a vest today, with nothing on his legs. I would normally pop a pair of shorts/trackies and socks on him if it was a 'normal' spring day. If we go out I pop a t-shirt or a jacket on normally over the top of the vest. Today when we went for a walk I just put a pair of shorts on and took a blanket with us just in case.

We're due to visit some relatives at the seaside on Sunday....I think he'll just in a romper and some sandals, maybe with a jacket on if we go onto the beach.

Joe is always wearing a vest...it seems to hold his nappy in place. I just put PJ's on him last night without a vest and his nappy was hanging between his legs. lol
If I would be out with him and it would get too hot I would take his t-shirt off and just leave him in shorts and vest.

I'm happy for Harvey to go vestless when he's wearing dungarees or a romper but his tshirt always rides up when someone lifts him so if he's wearing shorts & tshirt then I'd put a vest on under and just remove the tshirt if he got too warm.

No, it's been 27 degrees here today (and is still 26) today he has been in a lightweight all in one and he was still soaking with sweat I've had to change him several times. He's currently asleep in his nappy as he just crys with anything on him it's unbearable here! Xx

I had Evie in a vest with some lightweight short dungarees on earlier but she ended up in just her vest and a pair of socks (her feet get cold quickly!) I really didnt know what to do after her bath tonight tho... I sat there for ages looking at her babygro and wondering if I should put it on her

Thanks for asking this hun - i was wondering the same today. I had Amy in a vest and dress, but thought she was too warm. Def no vest tomorrow x
